– Marvel’s Luke Cage is nominated for an electronic media Peabody Award in the entertainment category. It faces some stiff competition being up against American Crime, Atlanta, Cleverman, Lemonade, Stranger Things, This Is Us, The Night Of, and Veep. Jessica Jones took home the prize last year, but something tells me that Marvel will break their streak next year when Iron Fist is being considered.
– IDW has released an Xbox One app with their entire digital catalog. To celebrate, they are giving away 10 volumes for free. The titles are ‘TMNT Vol. 1,’ ‘Locke & Key Vol. 1,’ ‘D4VE,’ ‘Star Trek Vol.1,’ ‘Ghostbusters Vol.1,’ ‘Jem Vol. 1,’ ‘Fear & Loathing,’ ‘Transformers RiD Vol.1,’ ‘Transformers MTMTE Vol. 1,’ and ‘Judge Dredd Vol. 1.’ The comics are available in standard visual format or in a motion book. The promotion was originally supposed to end today, but they’re extending it to 4/17 because of users experiencing issues with the app.
– Gerry Duggan and Aaron Kuder have started detailing their plans for “All-New Guardians of the Galaxy” when they take over the team from Bendis in May. They’ll be picking up right after the events in ‘Civil War II’ that lead the team to disband.
– Not only is The Tick coming to Amazon Video soon, but New England Comics is publishing a new series later this year. Douglas Paszkiewicz revealed that he is drawing the series in his mailing list.
– Marco Rudy and Ramon Perez will be drawing Iron Man and Spider-Man, respectively, for the upcoming “Generations” event from marvel. Brian Michael Bendis, who is writing both series, revealed the details.
– Despite being involved in the generally loathed Batman & Robin, Arnold Schwarzenegger said in an interview that he would “absolutely” want to play a villain in another Batman film. At this point, the scenery chewing, bad pun spewing Mr. Freeze would be a breath of fresh air in the super serious DCEU.
– Lastly, Marvel has definitely figured out how to solve their declining sales problem: Rewards points! That’s what everyone wants, right?
