In case you missed it, “Friday” debuted on Panel Syndicate and Mangamo launched its digital manga subscription service. We also have an interview with writer Matt Kindt on “Crimson Flower” a new comic book he’s writing and (initially) releasing through Patreon.

– The Guardian reported that the cult classic comic, “El Víbora” (“The Viper”), has relaunched as “an act of solidarity with people who are bored at home.” The comic grew from Spain’s 1970s counter-culture and ran for 300 issues between 1979 and 2005. While most of the comic will reuse material from previous issues, many former contributors have reached out to the publishers with new pages under the comic’s new slogan, “Go Fuck Yourself, Covid-19.”
– The Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC) posted a landing page for retailers seeking financial assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications for assistance from the foundation are open from April 10, 2020 to April 27, 2020. The information comes as #Creators4Comics auctions have taken off on Twitter, with numerous comic book creators auctioning goods and services for bidders to donate to BINC.
– Humble Bundle and Image Comics are running a comics bundle promotion with proceeds available to go to BINC and Traveling Stories. The three tiers offer consumers a variety of comic books from Jonathan Hickman’s Image bibliography including “East of West,” “The Dying and the Dead,” and “The Manhattan Projects.”
– The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Archie Comics will be releasing a new line of Archie reprints digitally under the newly dubbed ‘Archie 80th Anniversary Presents’ line. Series launches for the new line include “Archie,” “Josie, and the Pussycats” and “Veronica Lodge as Powerteen with BlackJack,” with price points of 99 cents and $1.99. The collections will be available on comiXology, the Archie application, and Hoopla.
– In film and televison news, Entertainment Weekly reported that Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj’s character from the ABC television show Agent Carter), will return in the seventh and final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. EW has an exclusive first look with screenshots of Daniel Sousa. Co-showrunner Maurissa Tanchaoen says that she wanted to explore Sousa after her time working with Gjokaj on Dollhouse.
– Disney+ will celebrate May 4th, Star Wars Day, by releasing the final episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and a documentary show entitled Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian. The Siege of Mandalore, the final battle of The Clone Wars, has been teased in the most recent episodes with Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze’s reunion, and Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the titular show.
– Deadline had an exclusive report on Zoic Studios, the VFX firm behind Game of Thrones and The Twilight Zone adapting the graphic novel “Mnemosyne,” by comics creator SANSA, for a television series. “Mnemosyne” (featured on the digital comics platform Tapas Media) “follows a young woman recovering from a horrible crash who struggles to regain her memory. The more she remembers, the more she fears that her caretakers are her captors and that her memories might not be her own.”
