Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– Looks like Jon Favreau is coming back to Marvel as the Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director confirmed to DigitalSpy that he’ll be executive producing the Avengers films alongside the Russo brothers? Is an Iron Man 4 in the future?
– We haven’t talked about Star Wars in a while so check out this interview with Jason Aaron on starwars.com where he talks about artist Jorge Molina joining him on “Star Wars” #21 and the introduction of an elite team of Stormtroopers.
– Yesterday, DC’s solicitations dropped for July 2016, the second month of their Rebirth rebranding. Check it out to see more details on books like “New Super-Man”, “Nightwing”, the “Green Lantern” titles and what may prove to be a controversial line in the “Batgirl” solicit.
– Check out this interview with Greg Pak on CBR about his new book, “Kickstarter Secrets”, which is about his success with three different Kickstarter campaigns. This should be an invaluable resource for up and coming comic creators.
– You should also check out this piece by Gene Luen Yang about “New Super-Man” and the journey taken to name the character. In a time where we’re talking about diversity in comics, this is a fascinating read.
– Finally, some poor soul has collected every line of dialogue that Superman has in Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Clocking in at only 43 lines (which is not a lot, especially for a two and a half hour long film), they’ve all been collected here. What’s hilarious is knowing that there’s usually a solid five or ten minutes of film between some of those lines, proving that Dawn Of Justice is a film about Superman that barely cares about Superman.
