– Freeform’s upcoming New Orleans-set “Cloak & Dagger” TV series has debuted its first teaser trailer and title logo. The trailer gives a brief overview of the titular character’s backstories and relationships, while also setting the tone and look of the show, which is reminiscent of something The CW would be producing. It stars Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt, and the first season is set to debut in 2018 along with New Warriors.

– Speaking of Freeform, after they ordered a New Warriors comedy series earlier this month, fans were left to speculate who would be joining the team along with the already-confirmed Squirrel Girl. There’s no need to guess any longer, as showrunner Kevin Biegel has officially confirmed the roster. The team will consist of Squirrel Girl, Speedball, Night Thrasher, Mister Immortal, Debrii, and Microbe. The first season is set to air in 2018 as ten half-hour episodes.

– The soundtrack (or Awesome Mix) for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 officially has a tracklist, and it consists of songs from classic artists like Electric Light Orchestra, George Harrison, Cat Stevens, and Fleetwood Mac, among many others. One of the tracks is an originally composed and comedic ode to Meco’s disco Star Wars theme. It’s titled “Guardians Inferno” and it’s from a band so underground they don’t even exist, The Sneepers, which is really just a cover for director James Gunn and composer Tyler Bates, but could also be a reference to Marvel’s own Milky Way extraterrestrials. The album goes on sale as a digital download this Friday.

Spawn-themed variants will be featured on a number of Image titles this May as part of Image Comics’ ongoing celebration of its 25th anniversary. The first nine covers have been revealed, and the batch includes seasoned veterans “Black Science,” “Injection,” and “Deadly Class.” Newer titles – like “God Country,” “Black Cloud,” and “Plastic” – are getting the Spawn variant treatment as well.

– Boom! Studios will launch “Go Go Power Rangers” this July, a new series from Ryan Parrott and Dan Mora which will chronicle the Power Rangers in their early, sweet-sixteen days. The book, which explores high-school life for the Power Rangers, will accompany the publisher’s current use of the license, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” which has just released its issue #14.

– “Thunderbolts” looks to have an uncertain future after this week’s release of issue #12. Jim Zub, writer of the Winter-Soldier led team book, explains why this may be the end for the series in a letter he posted Wednesday. He encourages readers to personally email Marvel if they’ve enjoyed the series and wish for it to continue.

– “Nightwing” #21 has seemingly undergone an overhaul. DC Writer Workshop alumnus Michael McMillan will replace Tim Seeley on writing, and Christian Duce will be replacing Marcus To on interior art for the issue. The new story will feature a visit from Wally West, and presumably serve as an interlude between arcs. It’s set to release on May 17, and will lead directly into the ‘Blockbuster’ story, which is now presumed to begin with issue #22.

– The Universal Pictures’ adaptation Mark Millar and Sean Murphy’s time-traveling adventure, “Chrononauts,” has acquired a screenwriter in Philip Gawthorne. The ex-playwright has helped adapt his own play into Modern Life is Rubbish, which is slated for a release later this year. Nothing has been announced as far as a director, or potential cast members, but Chris Morgan (producer of The Fast & the Furious) is overseeing the project.

– IDW will be celebrating July with a month of variant covers from Mondo artist Tom Whalen. The twelve covers can be seen here, and they range across several different series: “The X-Files,” “G.I. Joe,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “M.A.S.K.,” “Judge Dredd,” “Back to the Future,” “Star Trek Waypoint,” “Rom,” “Transformers: Lost Light,” and “Optimus Prime.”
