In case you missed it, the first trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was released.

– Marvel announced ‘The Last Annihilation,’ a crossover beginning in July’s issues of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “S.WO.R.D.,” both written by Al Ewing. The story, which calls back to the 2006 event ‘Annihilation,’ will see a new foe unleashing hell on the galaxy. The identity of the new mastermind will be revealed in June’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” #15, with the event proper beginning in the following month’s #16 (out July 21), and continuing in “S.W.O.R.D.” #7 (July 28).

– Marvel also announced “Aliens: Aftermath,” a special one-shot by writer Benjamin Percy (“Wolverine”) and artist Dave Wachter (“Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon”) to mark the 35th anniversary of the film. The story, also set 35 years after the film, will follow a group of investigative journalists heading to LV-426 to uncover what happened to the colony of Hadley’s Hope — and what they’ll discover in the ruins as it tries to kill them. “Aliens: Aftermath” releases July 14.

– Image’s “Radiant Black” is receiving an orchestral soundtrack, courtesy of The Walking Dead composer Sam Ewing. Each of the six planned tracks will tie into an issue of the superhero comic’s initial six-part arc. You can listen to the score at http://radiant.black/music/ “Radiant Black” #3, penned by Kyle Higgins with art by Marcelo Costa, will go on sale tomorrow.

– In an extensive interview with Eurogamer, Assassin’s Creed publishing content manager Etienne Bouvier and transmedia director Aymar Azaïzia shed light on the future of the video games’ expanded universe, including new branding specifying whether the stories are original or not. The article also brings word of an “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” graphic novel from French publisher Glénat, and a “Black Flag” sequel from Korean webcomic creators Redice Studio. Head to the link for more.

– Per Variety, the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel will be directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender), Kemp Powers (Soul), and Justin K. Thompson (who served as production designer on the first film). While Dos Santos’s involvement had been previously reported, he has been working with Powers and Thompson since the film was greenlit. The first Spider-Verse was directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman. The sequel, written by Phil Lord and Chris Miller with David Callaham, is due for release on October 7, 2022.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed British actress Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) is in talks to join Marvel’s Disney+ series Secret Invasion. The show, inspired by Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu’s comic of the same name, is also set to star Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos the Skrull, and Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami) as a villain.

– Disney+’s WandaVision received five nominations from the MTV Movie & TV Awards, including Best Show, Best Performance in a Show (for Elizabeth Olsen), Best Hero (Teyonah Parris), Best Villain (Kathryn Hahn), and Best Fight (Wanda vs. Agatha). Other nominees include The Umbrella Academy, The Boys, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, The Mandalorian, Birds of Prey, and Wonder Woman 1984: you can read the full list here. The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards will be held on May 16, and you can vote for the winners here.

– Furthermore, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier executive producer Nate Moore told IndieWire that Marvel plans to submit the series to the Emmys in the series categories (instead of miniseries), implying it will be renewed for a second season. It was also reported M.O.D.O.K., the stop-motion series starring Patton Oswalt as the nefarious giant head, will be available on Hulu’s overseas equivalent, the Disney+’s portal Star, on the same day as its US premiere on May 21.

– Finally, IDW Publishing announced John Layman and Nick Bradshaw’s long-delayed “Bermuda” will begin in July; and Shazam! composer Benjamin Wallfisch will reteam with IT director Andy Muschietti on The Flash movie, due out November 4, 2022.
