– Marvel Comics, in partnership with Riot Games, has announced another comic series emanating from the popular video game League of Legends called “League of Legends: Lux,” about the character Luxanna “Lux” Crownguard. The series will be written by John O’Bryan (Avatar: The Last Airbender) with art by Tan Studios (penciling by Billy Tan, inks by Haining, and colors by Gadson). The digital five-issue series launches its first issue May 8th.

Romper revealed the cover and some preview pages for the upcoming graphic novel “Go With the Flow,” which “follows four best friends through the trials and tribulations of friendship, fights, and periods.” The graphic novel comes from Lily Williams and Karen Schneemann, creators of the webcomic “The Mean Magenta,” which also focuses on humorous conversations about menstruation. The graphic novel is being published by First Second Books and hits shelves January 14, 2020.

– The GULAG History State Museum in Moscow, Russia is publishing a graphic novel in order to educate young people on the atrocities of Stalinism. The graphic novel, called “You Who Survived,” will tell the stories of those persons whose stories are recorded in the permanent wing of the museum which opened in December 2018. Artists working on the book include: Konstantin Chirkov, Dmitry Osetrov, Eldar Selimov, Anastasia Danilova and Sofia Elovikova. The graphic novel will be the first in a series of novels, and is set to be published at the end of April. You can read more about the project here and here.

– “The Black Monday Murders” artist/co-creator Tomm Coker posted on Facebook yesterday that due to an unspecified and unspecific health condition, the third and final arc of the book is being delayed. Jonathan Hickman and Coker launched the book at Image Comics in February 2016, and have published 8 issues since then. Issue #9 of the book was set to be released this week, but orders on #9 and #10 have been cancelled and the book will be resolicited.

– Author Brandon T. Snider revealed on Twitter that he is working on two new Batman Animated novels for young readers that will star Batwoman and Batwing, and feature both characters “in print drawn in the classic Dini/Timm style!” Snider is the writer of numerous books related to numerous DC, Marvel, and other properties including the Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest series and The Dark Knight Manual. Snider promised more details as they come.

– The first full trailer for the upcoming DC Universe show Swamp Thing premiered yesterday, showcasing a full-on horror series taking place in the Louisiana marshland. The show stars “Abby Arcane [played by Crystal Reed] as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets.” You can find the trailer here, and the first episode of the show on DC Universe Friday May 31st. A new CG-animated Star Trek show set to debut on Nickelodeon was officially announced yesterday, which is being developed by Kevin and Dan Hageman (The LEGO Movie) and overseen by Ramsey Naito, EVP of Animation Production and Development at Nickelodeon. The series will follow “a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.” This is the first Star Trek spinoff announced not set for CBS All Access, and comes on the heels of the Jean-Luc Picard show, the animated Star Trek: Lower Decks, and the Section 31 spin-off starring Michelle Yeoh.

– At the Red Carpet premiere for Avengers: Endgame, out today, Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen teased new information for her upcoming Disney+ spinoff with Paul Bettany’s Vision called WandaVision. The actress teased that the series will draw on multiple comic book stories, have a “50s aesthetic,” and will have a total runtime of 6 hours, though she was unsure how that would break down by episode. Olsen also stated the show will begin filming in the fall.

– Finally, writer Mark Waid gave new details about the ongoing lawsuit between himself and ComicsGate leader Richard Meyer. Meyer has claimed that Waid interfered with the publication of his and Jon Malin’s comic “Jawbreakers” at Antarctic Press. Waid shared that Joe Dunn, publisher of Antarctic Press, was deposed last month which seemed to help Waid’s case. Waid’s lawyer has also filed to dismiss. You can read more about the matter here.
