– One of Stan Lee’s final projects, an audio drama, is being released this summer. Stan Lee’s Alliances: A Trick of the Light will debut on Audible this June 27, co-written by Edgar Award-nominated author Kat Rosenfield. According to a press release, it introduces listeners to “a mysterious young woman, Nia, whose fate is intertwined with a seemingly ordinary Midwestern teenager, Cameron Ackerson, whose quest for YouTube stardom takes him to the heart of the Great Lakes Triangle, where he is imbued with the power to ‘see’ and ‘hear’ a new reality.”
– The creators behind Blacksad: Under the Skin have released new details about the video game based on the award-winning graphic novel, including a release date. The game will be out September 26, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. There’s also a story trailer, which you can watch here.
– The LINE Manga app announced that Haruichi will launch “Star Wars: Leia Ōjo no Shiren” on May 4, or, as fans might know it, Star Wars Day. The manga focuses on 16-year old Leia as she prepares to take a mandatory test to become queen of Alderaan. While busy with her studies, she falls in love with a fellow Alderaanian named Kia, and as her fear grows over the looming threat of the expanding Empire, she learns an important secret from her parents.
– Fox has settled out of court with the family of Joi Harris, the motorcycle stuntwoman killed in an accident during the production of Deadpool 2 in 2017. Harris was the first African-American female professional road racer, and Deadpool 2 was to be her first film as a stunt performer.
– Fortnite is getting in on the Avengers: Endgame hype with a crossover that brings the Marvel heroes into the Battle Royale video game. Players will either work to stop or protect Thanos, depending on which side they’re on, with the help of equipment like Captain America’s shield, Thor’s Stormbreaker ax, and Black Widow’s baton. The Hollywood Reporter has all the details on the limited time event.
– Morgan Neville and Imagine Documentaries announced Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10, a pseudo-documentary that seeks to discover whether Snoopy was a world famous, top-secret astronaut. It will star Ron Howard as himself, along with Jeff Goldblum as a self-published NASA historican. It debuts on Apple TV in May.
– The Supreme Court in Rwanda has repealed a law banning the publication of satirical political cartoons. However, the court upheld a law that punishes insulting or defaming the president, sending conflicting messages about Rwanda’s freedom of expression.
– Finally, Netflix released the trailer for season 4 of Lucifer, which debuts May 8. In it, Lucifer faces a new challenge (and a new love triangle) with the appearance of his old flame Eve — yes, that Eve.
