The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Visions are both receiving manga adaptations in Square Enix’s Big Gangan magazine, beginning May 25. Anime News Network reports Yūsuke Ōsawa (“Spider-Man: Fake Red”) will draw the Mandalorian adaptation, as well as the Visions episode “The Ninth Jedi.” Kamome Shirahama (“Witch Hat Atelier”), who designed the characters in “The Elder,” will adapt that short, while Haruichi (“Star Wars Leia, Princess of Alderaan”) will retell “Lop and Ochō,” and Keisuke Sato (“Little Witch Academia”) will reinterpret “The Twins.” An English release date for the comics is not yet known; until then, you can take a closer look on Shirahama’s Twitter.

– Image Comics announced “Rogues’ Gallery,” an ongoing thriller by actress and debut writer Hannah Rose May (Shooter, Altered Carbon), as well as artist Justin Mason (“Spider-Punk”), Declan Shalvey (who brought the project to Image), colorist Triona Farrell, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. The series, described as The Purge meets Scream, “follows disenfranchised TV superhero actress Maisie Wade, as she is terrorized by an unhinged group of intruders cosplaying her day job’s archvillains.” Issue #1 will be released on July 20.

– Via ICv2, Oni Press announced “Talli: Daughter of the Moon,” a young adult fantasy graphic novel by French-Laotian animator Sourya, translated by Francois Vigneault. The book follows Talli, “a Summoner, one of the few remaining members of a people who have mysterious powers. The others in their world hate and fear the Summoners, but Talli was adopted as a baby by Lord Borin and lived in safety in his castle for years.” When the castle is attacked, she flees to the countryside with Sir Alan, who may have ulterior motives. The 168-page book will be published on September 28 for $19.99.

– Via Screen Rant, Humanoids revealed the cover and release date for “Psychoverse,” the upcoming graphic novel by Mark Russell and Yanick Paquette, set in Alejandro Jodorowsky and Jean (Moebius) Giraud’s “Incal” universe. The book, which continues the saga of detective John DiFool, will be released in hardcover on November 24. The announcement was made in the run-up to the “Free Comic Book Day: The Incal Universe Special,” which will contain a preview of the book on Saturday, May 7.

– At CinemaCon, Sony announced rapper and wrestler Bad Bunny will headline the superhero film El Muerto, due out January 12, 2024. Introduced by Peter David and Roger Cruz in 2006’s “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” El Muerto (Juan-Carlos Sanchez) is a luchador, whose mask is an ancestral heirloom that grants him superhuman strength. Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) will be the first Latino actor to headline a Marvel film. The studio also revealed the third Spider-Verse film has been retitled Beyond the Spider-Verse, and that more Venom and Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequels are in the works.

– AWA Studios have struck a development deal with London-based production company Fremantle, the producer of American Gods, The Young Pope, and many more. Zach Studin, AWA Studios president, said, “Fremantle’s unparalleled success in creating global hits and their commitment to artists makes them an ideal partner for AWA Studios. This cutting-edge partnership with Fremantle continues the AWA Studios mission on behalf of our artists, writers, and artisans – to bring their extraordinary stories to global audiences with world class stewardship. We look forward to building exceptional television with Andrea Scrosati, Christian Vesper, and the team at Fremantle.”

– Dark Horse announced the digital-first series “Overwatch: New Blood” will be released in print beginning July 13, 2022. The five-part series by writer Ray Fawkes, artist Irene Koh, and letterer Deron Bennett, was originally released online for free last winter, and follows the character of Cole Cassidy during his return to Overwatch.

– Finally, Disney Parks revealed Terry Crews is a cast member in the upcoming EPCOT ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Crews portrays Nova Centurion Tal Marik, Commander of the Starcharter, and a close advisor to Nova Prime (played once again by Glenn Close.) Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens at EPCOT on Friday, May 27.
