– Alongside the release of two new Wonder Woman tv spots that showcase our first look at David Thewlis’ Sir Patrick Morgan, as well as his other rumored role as Ares, director Patty Jenkins has laid out her vision for a sequel. She expressed interest in moving the character into a new, unique story, not tied down by the needs to define her character. She also described wanting to bring her to America, as that’s how we’re all familiar with her.

– Action Lab has announced a new project called Comics for the Classroom. This will see the donation of 5 million comics to education programs, starting as early as next year. While at the Diamond Summit where this was announced they announced some new books that could be a part of this program. This includes “Princeless: Raven the Pirate Princess: Year Two,” a new all-ages comic “Kid Sherlock,” action adventure series “Albert Einstein: Time Mason,” “The Ghost, The Owl,” as well as previous series “Stray” and “Midnight Tiger.”

– In an interview with the Toronto Sun Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn spoke about his future role with Marvel and what would be the effects coming out of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He said, “I will be helping to plant the seeds that will lead to the next decade. I’m helping to decide what projects we’ll be pursuing outside of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3… and what the next cosmic characters we will focus on.” This comes after recent reports that there might not even be a Marvel Phase 4.

Charlie’s Angels’ director McG has reportedly dropped out of directing Sony’s upcoming Masters of the Universe film, and the studio is reportedly already meeting with other directors. It is also confirmed that David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight) will be writing the film.

– Part three of DC’s current crossover ‘The Button,’ “Batman” #22 will now be scripted by “Flash” writer Joshua Williamson, instead of usual writer Tom King. King said “As we worked out the story details of the issues together, it became clear to me that Josh could script ‘Batman’ #22 better than I could.” The issue will arrive in stores May 3rd with a plot by Tom King & Joshua Williamson, a script by Joshua Williamson, and cover and art by Jason Fabok.

– Fox’s New Mutants has acquired the working title of ”Growing Pains”. The nod to the 1980’s sitcom seems to be indicative of director Josh Boone’s film which sports such inspirations as classic Amblin and John Hughes films.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that “Sandman” scribe Neil Gaiman has a new idea for how to adapt his near masterpiece. He would like to see a television adaptation that would take advantage of all the things that would be a hinderance to the film, such as the length and the adult content. When asked about why the film has stalled he said, “The trouble with Warners, and I don’t blame them for it, is they know that ‘Sandman’ is one of the jewels in their crown – and they know that with the jewels in your crown, you make movies out of them.”

– Sony has moved the release date of their animated Spider-Man film up a week to December 14, 2018. This would remove it from opening against Warner Brothers’ Aquaman. It will now open against Universal’s Mortal Engines.
