In case you missed it yesterday, IDW announced a graphic novel based on the life of James Brown, and 2000 AD announced a new talent search called 2000 AD Art Stars.

– The Image Comics series “Infidel” from Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Aaron Campbell has been picked up by TriStar pictures for adaptation. The five-issue miniseries, which sees its third issue out next Wednesday, follows an American Muslim woman as she and her neighbors are trapped in a modern haunted house that feeds on xenophobia.

The second season of Iron Fist has wrapped production. While we know that Luke Cage season 2 is set to premiere June 22, we don’t know what Marvel Netflix show will be premiering in the fall. With both Daredevil season 3 and The Punisher season 2 in production, all signs point to Iron Fist being the next show. Look for more information as it comes.

– Image Comics announced yesterday that all of the proceeds from the upcoming “Where We Live” anthology, in memory of the victims of the recent Las Vegas shooting, will donate all its proceeds to Route91Strong, a non-profit supporting and helping survivors of the largest mass shooting in American history. Image also announced a book tour for the work, set to begin in Los Angeles on its release date, May 30th.

Avengers: Infinity War continues to be going strong at the box office, but that hasn’t stopped Marvel Studios and Disney from planning the future of the MCU. Disney CEO Bob Iger teased yesterday that “Phase 4” of the universe will involve new franchises, and that Avengers 4 doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the Avengers franchise. The studio has movies planned “well into the next decade.”

– In more Marvel Cinematic Universe news, Oscar-nominated actress Annette Bening is set to join Captain Marvel in a currently undisclosed role. Captain Marvel hits theaters March 6, 2019.

– Actress Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice) is set to recur in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s “The Umbrella Academy.” Walsh will play The Handler, a leader of a mysterious bureaucratic company, and joins Ellen Page and Mary J. Blige in the series. No release date has been announced.

– Donny Cates, Eliot Rahal, and Geoff Shaw’s series “The Paybacks” is being reprinted in its current form at Dark Horse. The series published its first volume at Dark Horse before moving to “Heavy Metal” for volume 2. Both volumes will be reprinted by Dark Horse as “The Paybacks Collection” on August 1.

– The new DC/Lego movie, LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman – Rage of Atlantis received its first trailer earlier this week, and now we know the exact release date and voice cast. The film is set to be released on Blu-Ray on July 31st, with notable voice actors and actresses such as Dee Bradley Baker (Aquaman) and Susan Eisenberg (Mera) lending their talents to the production.

Deadpool became the first fictional character yesterday to have his video answers appear on Google Search. So if you just give Deadpool a search on Google, Ryan Reynolds voice and Deadpool’s mask will greet you with answers to questions about Mother’s Day, the release date of Deadpool, and “Should I text my ex?” Deadpool 2 is out May 18th.

– Over in the UK, The New European have republished a cartoon by Neil Kerber depicting the recently appointed Home Secretary Sajid Javid, captioned, “I just want to settle in, get organized, then deport my parents!” The magazine’s editor responded to criticism that the cartoon was racist (Javid is of Pakistani descent), by reiterating that the cartoon was about the underlying racism at the Home Office which caused the Windrush scandal, and the subsequent resignation of Javid’s predecessor Amber Rudd.
