In case you missed it, DC announced the end of most of Gerard Way’s ‘Young Animal’ titles (while also promising a second wave), and Drawn & Quarterly unveiled their Spring 2019 slate of books. We also have an exclusive preview of “Infinity Countdown: Daredevil.”

The Voice cartoonist Tayo Fatunla (“Our Roots”) will receive a lifetime achievement award from the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, along with fellow cartoonists Ray Billingsley, Barbara Brandon-Croft, Jerry Craft, and Ralph L. Stevenson. “I am truly honored to be appreciated and taken aback at the recognition of my cartoon strip,” said Fatunla, in a Voice article announcing the award.

Bleeding Cool showed off “Justice League” #1’s new Jim Lee variant cover and logo, as well as black and white variants of the variant.

– Artist Mitch Gerads (“Mister Miracle,” “The Sheriff of Babylon”) announced he’s going to remain exclusive with DC Comics, meaning we can look forward to many more beautiful 9-panel grids.

– In other DC news, the publisher is raising the price on many of their ongoing titles, cancelling the “Infinite Crisis Unwrapped” hardcover, and changing the release dates for the next issues of “Astro City” and “Shade The Changing Woman.”

– STX Entertainment, Tencent Pictures, and Channing Tatum’s Free Association are partnering to adapt Chinese comic “Zombie Brother” for the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The digital comic, which has already spawned an animated adaptation, has garnered over 17 billion views since 2011.

– The first of Marvel and NetEase Comics’s original Chinese superheroes debuted this week in two series titled “Warriors of Three Sovereigns” and “Cyclone.” Technode has details on the co-developed heroes and where exactly they might fit into the Marvel Universe.

– Argentinian comic strip “Macanudo,” which has run daily since 2002, is coming to the U.S. via a deal with King Features Syndicate. The strip will make its U.S debut in September, as detailed by The Beat.

– Netflix’s The Punisher has added two new cast members for season two: Corbin Bernsen (American Gods) and Annette O’Toole (Smallville). According to Deadline, Bernsen will play an extremely wealthy man named Anderson Schulz, and O’Toole will play Anderson’s conniving wife, Eliza.

Deadline also confirmed that Wynonna Earp season four is coming as part of Syfy’s summer schedule, with a premiere date of Friday, July 20.

– Finally, executive producer Jon Favreau revealed the live-action Star Wars TV series will take place several years after Return of the Jedi. Favreau promised the show – which will be released on Disney’s forthcoming streaming service – will feature brand new characters, and use cutting edge technology ala his adaptation of The Jungle Book.
