In case you missed it, we had an exclusive look at “A.X.E.: Death to the Mutants” #2.

– “Marvel’s Voices: Pride” #1 will introduce readers to Shela Sexton, trans mutant and the superheroine Escapade. Escapade will debut in a story from writer Charlie Jane Anders, artist Ro Stein, inker Ted Brandt, and colorist Tamra Bonvillain. The story will see Sexton and her best friend Morgan Red making a living as thieves, until they encounter Emma Frost and Destiny. Her powers are described as allowing her to “instantaneously switch physical locations with another person, or trade any specific physical or abstract attribute such as possessions, organizational status, skills, superhuman powers, and even situations.” Anders says she’s thrilled to introduce a new character into Marvel canon, hoping that “Escapade and Morgan Red will inspire trans and non-binary people everywhere to believe that they, too, can fight for justice with the power of creativity and chosen family.” Also featuring stories from Christopher Cantwell, Andrew Wheeler, Alyssa Wong and more, “Marvel’s Voices: Pride” #1 will be available on June 22.

– Tom King will explore the events leading up to Christopher Chance’s poisoning in a new DC Black Label anthology. “Tales of The Human Target” will see the title bodyguard “team up” with members of the Justice League International in four stories, created by King with four fan favorite artists: Mikel Janín, Rafael Albuquerque, Kevin Maguire, and regular series artist Greg Smallwood. Smallwood provides cover art, with variants from David Marquez and Jorge Jiménez. The 48-page anthology will be available on Tuesday, August 23. Fans wanting to catch up with the main series can grab “The Human Target Book One” less than a month later on September 13, which will collect the first six issues. It hits shelves shortly before issue #7 starts the second half of the series on September 23.

Spider-Man: No Way Home has scored seven MTV Movie & TV Award nominations, leading the awards along with HBO’s Euphoria. Zendaya picked noms for each, earning Best Performance in a Show for Euphoria, and Best Kiss with Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland. No Way Home’s other nominations include Best Movie, alongside Shang-Chi and The Batman (itself taking four nominations), and Best Fight. Holland also received nods for Best Hero, Best Performance in a Movie, and Best Team (which he shares with Tobey Maquire and Andrew Garfield). Disney+’s Loki scored three nominations, while Peacemaker’s John Cena and Moon Knight’s Oscar Isaac both picked up one nom each. The MTV Movie & TV Awards will be presented live on Sunday, June 5.

– In more award news, Kodansha have announced the winners of their 46th Annual Manga Awards. Taiki Kawakami’s “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” from the publisher’s Shonen Sirius magazine took Best Shōnen Manga, with “Nina the Starry Bride” by Rikachi (from Kodansha’s Be Love) taking best Best Shōjo. Miko Yasu’s “Police in a Pod” (Kodansha’s Morning) took Best General Manga.

– Revealed covers for “Worlds Without a Justice League – Green Lantern” give us a glimpse of John Stewart and Kyle Rayner’s new looks and Green Lantern Jason Todd. The one-shot is written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and drawn by Fernando Blanco, with covers from Blanco and Mario Foccillo. The book also contains a Hawkgirl-centric story from writer Nadia Shammas and artist Jack Herbert. The book is due out August 9 and will be the second in a series of “Worlds Without a Justice League” books tying into DC’s “Dark Crisis” event.

– Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (The Tragedy of Macbeth), and Marco Pigossi (Invisible City) have been cast in Amazon Prime’s college-set Boys spin-off. While their roles have yet to be confirmed, reports suggest they will respectively play Golden Boy, Polarity, and Dr. Cardosa. Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters will serve as showrunners for the currently unnamed spin-off.

– Megacorporations have carved the country into city-states, with public television edu-tainers — including puppets — left to fend for themselves in Dark Horse’s upcoming four-issue miniseries “Survival Street.” The ultra-violent Sesame Street parody comes from writers James Asmus and Jim Festante, with pencils and inks by Abylay Kussainov, colors from Ellie Wright, and letters by Taylor Esposito. Ben Dewey will provide a variant cover. “‘Survival Street’ originated as our personal pandemic passion project,” Asmus says, “but once Jim and I connected with Abylay, he brought it thundering to life as the ultimate world and story to process so much of our anxieties, frustration, future shock, and gallows humor.” Recommended for ages 14+, “Survival Street” #1 (of 4) will be available on August 3.

– Finally, Gwen Stacy may be returning to the pages of “Amazing Spider-Man” this August. “Amazing Spider-Man” #10 from writer Zeb Wells and artist John Romita Jr. will tie in with “A.X.E.: Judgment Day,” with the unveiled cover hinting that Peter Parker’s late girlfriend Gwen Stacy will return from the dead. Marvel promises this “very special issue” might “break your heart all over again.” The Earth-616 Gwen Stacy has been dead in Marvel canon since 1973’s “Amazing Spider-Man” #121.
