– GlobalComix has announced “Resilience: Creators Against COVID,” a seven-chapter anthology celebrating perseverance and hope during in uncertain times. 100% of the proceeds will be released to the creators, and to their shops and charities of choice. ““We turn to comics and books to relax, disconnect, and re-energize,” GlobalComix CEO and Founder Christopher Carter said of the project. “It warms my heart to see that we can also use this medium to help the world around us.” Contributors include Janelle Asselin, Landry Walker, Jamal Igle, Alex Segura, Sina Grace, and many more. The anthology can be found on GlobalComix’s website. New chapters will be released every Tuesday starting May 18.

– Legendary artist John Romita Jr. will join Dan Slott for August’s “Fantastic Four” #35, in celebration of the heroes’ 60th anniversary. The giant-sized issue will see the many incarnations of Kang the Conqueror battle Marvel’s first family in the aftermath of ‘The Bride of Doom.’ The book will also feature a story from Mark Waid and Paul Renaud offering “dramatic new insights” into the team’s origin, and writer/artist Jason Loo’s Marvel Comics debut.

– Marvel also unveiled new information about their upcoming ‘Extreme Carnage’ event. Writer Alyssa Wong and artist Fran Galan will bring us “Extreme Carnage: Riot” #1, a one-shot starring the Life Foundation symbiote Riot, as it goes on “a fateful road trip.” Writer Clay Mcleod Chapman will reunite with “Scream: Curse of Carnage” artist Chris Mooneyham on “Extreme Carnage: Lasher” #1, as the title symbiote recovers from the events of ‘King in Black,’ and a new symbiote is born. The event starts this July.

– Anaheim’s Star Wars Celebration has changed its dates, moving the event from August 18-21, 2022 to May 26-29, 2022. Tickets already purchased will be automatically moved to the new dates, but can be refunded as well on the event’s website.

– NBC will air Annie Live! during the holiday season. The musical, based on Harold Gray’s “Little Orphan Annie” comic strip from 1924, is the latest in a series of stage productions filmed by the network, and the first since 2018’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. “NBC is where we started these live musicals and I still have so much affection for it,” said Bob Greenblatt, who produced the show with Neil Meron. “I’m also so gratified to be working with this creative team, a group of people who are the best at what they do.” Annie originally opened on Broadway in 1977. It won seven Tonys, and has been adapted to film several times.

– “New Teen Titans” creators Marv Wolfman and George Perez will be guest starring in a Teen Titans Go! episode, simply titled “Marv Wolfman and George Perez.” The pair, who created Raven, Starfire, Cyborg, and Nightwing, will be seen trying to “pitch an idea for the new Teen Titans in 24 hours, so they brainstorm different concepts for the team.” The episode will premiere on Cartoon Network on Saturday, May 29.

– Rock fans can listen to Mastodon’s “Forged by Neron” today on the band’s YouTube page. The song is off DC’s upcoming “Dark Nights: Death Metal” soundtrack. The series’ companion album features acts such as Rise Against, Starcrawler, and IDLES, and is produced by film composer Tyler Bates. The soundtrack will be available on June 18 from DC Comics and Loma Vista Recordings on both CD and vinyl. It is available for preorder now.

– “Superman Smashes the Klan” is available for free on DC’s Book Club. In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, DC is making the miniseries from Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru available to all members for no charge until the next Book Club comic is selected in June. Members will also gain access to an exclusive Q&A with Yang on May 18, in addition to other perks, such as a live listen-along of “Clan of the Fiery Cross,” the original radio serial that inspired the book.

– Following up on a story from March 15’s Rundown, French artist Xavier Marabout has won the case against him by the heirs of “Tintin” creator Hergé. Marabout was sued by the family over a series of art mashups placing “Tintin” characters in the works of painter Edward Hopper. According to The Huffington Post France, Marabout was also awarded £8,500 in damages, due to potential lost revenue.

– Finally, our own Matthew Blair, with artist Frankie B. Washington, has launched a Kickstarter for his upcoming comic “Cowboys & Kaijus.” At the time this was written, the project has met its $2,000 goal, with 17 days left in the campaign. Stretch goals include original artwork, a special Kickstarter exclusive variant cover, and a black & white prequel comic detailing the origins of monster-fighting android “The Hunter.”
