– Everybody’s favorite, least developed jedi is getting his own mini-series this this August from Marvel. “Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu” will run for five issues and will be set just after the start of the Clone Wars as the jedi have to adjust to their new roles as generals in the republic’s army. The series will be written by Matt Owens (“Elektra”) and drawn by Denys Cowan (“Deathlok”). The first issue will sport a main cover by Jesus Saiz, with a Star Wars 40th Anniversary variant by Russell Dauterman, and two other by variants by Rahzzah and Javier Rodriguez. This is the first time Mace Windu has received his own series, though he did have a one-shot called “Star Wars: Jedi – Mace Windu.”

– Chris Pine has seemingly confirmed the origin of Wonder Woman in the new Wonder Woman film. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Pine states that Gal Gadot is “delivering lines like ‘My father is Zeus’.” While this could be  reference to the rumor that Zeus created the amazons to combat Ares, it is infinitely more likely this is Wonder Woman saying Zeus is her biological father, as first seen in the character’s New 52 series.

The Dark Crystal, a film that has inspired both comics series “Jim Henson’s The Power of the Dark Crystal” and “Jim Henson’s Dark Crystal,” is receiving a prequel series from Netflix and the Jim Henson company. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance has received a ten episode order to begin filming this fall with Louis Leterrier directing. Brian Froud, a conceptual designer on both The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, and The Jim Henson Company will create fantastical new creatures for the show. A release date for the show has not been announced.

– In other DC news, fans have been treated to multiple first looks at Mera’s costume in the upcoming Aquaman film. First earlier yesterday in a tweet from the films director James Wan. Then again later by actress Amber Heard, who is portraying the character. The costume looks noticeably different than the one used in Justice League, with one of the most notable differences being the use of such bright color.

– The Flop House has released “A Hairy Night in Wolfsburg,” the second in an anthology series commissioned and partially created by the staff of the podcast. Podcaster Stuart Wellington wrote the issue while Jacob Edgar, Dearbhla Kelly, and Simon Bowland handled the art. The issue is currently being sold on the podcast’s website for name-your-price between one and fifty dollars. Proceeds from the book are to be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Arrow star Stephen Amell has finally appeared on American Ninja Warrior. After years of talking about it, the actor is taking apart in the shows first celebrity episode which will air for Red Nose Day, a day of tv programming which raises money and awareness for children in poverty. A preview for the episode has been released on American Ninja Warrior’s youtube channel, and fans can catch the whole episode May 25th at 8 pm ET on NBC.

– Readers were given their first look at Sean Gordon Murphy’s unnamed Batman story via Twitter recently. This also comes with news that DC is keeping the series strictly under wraps, and the fact that the series will in fact come out as single issues and not as one big OGN.

– It has been announced that much like Supergirl, Black Lightning will start off unconnected to the Arrowverse. CW President Mark Pedowitz said, “We do not aim to do a five-way crossover.” The actual logistics of doing so make this quite understandable as all of the Arrowverse shows are shot in Vancouver, Black Lightning is shot in Atlanta.
