In case you missed it, Marvel Comics have announced writer John Ridley and artist Juann Cabal will be relaunching the “Black Panther” series in August. IDW also announced two new miniseries, “Transformers: Shattered Glass” and “Transformers: King Grimlock,” while Image announced “The Me You Love in the Dark” from Skottie Young and Jorge Corona.

– DC Comics have announced the “Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular.” Writers Dan Jurgens, Geoff Johns, Brandon Thomas, Chuck Brown, Stephanie Phillips, Michael Moreci, Marguerite Bennett, Dan Watters, Jeff Parker, Becky Cloonan and Francis Manapul will all contribute along with artists Steve Epting, Paul Pelletier, Valentine de Landro, Hendry Prasetya, Pop Mhan, Trungles, Miguel Mendonça, Evan “Doc” Shaner, and more. “Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular” features a main cover by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado and will also showcase eight “decade” cardstock variants. The main cover version of this 100-page special is priced at $9.99, with each card stock variant priced at $10.99.

– Marvel have announced the 100th issue of “Runaways” will feature the return of the characters’ co-creator, artist Adrian Alphona. The 38th issue of author Rainbow Rowell’s critically acclaimed run, this landmark comic will also feature art by series artist Andrés Genolet as well as Kris Anka. Rowell said “Everyone who worked on this book cared so much about the characters and the story we were telling. I knew when I signed on that I loved the Runaways, but I never thought I’d get this lucky with my collaborators. It’s been a complete pleasure.” “Runaways” #100 will be available August 11, 2021.

– Via CBR, Marvel also announced “Spirits of Vengeance: Spirit Rider” #1. Written by the Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo and Ben Earl with art by Paul Davidson, the one-shot features Kushala, Marvel’s Demon Rider and Spirit of Vengeance/Ghost Rider of the 1800s, who will help Johnny Blaze investigate what exactly is haunting him, while also promising to “kick off a brand-new era of vengeance.” Created by Robbie Thompson and Javier Rodriguez, Kushala debuted in 2016’s “Doctor Strange and the Sorcerer Supremes” #1. “Spirits of Vengeance: Spirit Rider” #1 goes on sale in August.

– ICv2 reports Scholastic Graphix’s versions of the middle-grade historical series I Survived will continue with “I Survived the Attacks of September 11, 2001.” Written by Lauren Tarshis with art by Corey Egbert, the book follows Lucas, an avid football player whose parents want him to quit the team, and who skips school to talk about the issue with his father’s best friend, a firefighter. He arrives at the firehouse just as the attacks begin. The book will be released in hardcover and softcover on August 3, a month before the 20th anniversary of the attacks.

– Image have announced “Bitter Root” will feature a special commemorative cover in celebration of Juneteenth. “Bitter Root” #14 will feature new art by Greene, and arrives in stores this June. Walker said of the cover, “Team ‘Bitter Root’ has always been committed to acknowledging a very rich history within the work we do, and this commemorative Juneteenth cover is our way of celebrating an occasion that speaks to the heart and soul of what this series is about and the culture we honor.” “Bitter Root” #14 will be available Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

– The Beat has an exclusive preview of “Wrassle Castle,” a young readers title from Vault Comics Wonderbound imprint. Written by Colleen Coover and Paul Tobin, with art by Galaad and letters from Jeff Powell, “Wrassle Castle” follows Lydia Riverthane, who has always dreamed of being a professional wrassler, the greatest of all fighters in the kingdom of Grimslade. When her brother is mysteriously arrested for treason, Lydia and her friends must find a way into the year-end tournament, where she can win back his freedom. “Wrassle Castle: Book One: Learning the Ropes” is set to hit store shelves on September 21, 2021.

– In the second installment of their “Illustrated Lives” series, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)’s Magazine featured a comic by Jillian Tamaki, chronicling the life and work of sculptor Ruth Asawa. “Asawa’s life and art practice, the early years at least, were well-recorded by the photographer Imogen Cunningham, who was a family friend,” Tamaki said. “They are such iconic images — it made me think about the role photography and documentation plays in the legacy of a modern artist.”

– Via Twitter, Hannah Templer announced “Cosmoknights Book Two.” New chapters of the webcomic will debut next month, and be released in print by Top Shelf next year. “Cosmoknights” follows Pan, as she discovers the astonishing secrets of her neo-medieval world… and the intoxicating possibility of burning it all down. “Cosmoknights” is available now, and “Cosmoknights Book Two” will be available to read starting June 14, 2021.

– Marvel and SiriusXM announced the launch of their first original scripted podcast series, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord. The first two episodes will be available starting Tuesday, June 1 on the SiriusXM app, Pandora, Stitcher, and all major podcast platforms. The 10-episode series will be released weekly, kicking off season one of Marvel and SiriusXM’s multi-part Marvel’s Wastelanders podcast series, which will feature other Marvel heroes like Old Man Wolverine, Old Man Hawkeye, and Grey Widow. Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord. stars Timothy Busfield as Star-Lord, Chris Elliott as Rocket, and Nadine Malouf as Cora. The series will also feature Patrick Page as Kraven the Hunter, Vanessa Williams as Emma Frost, and Danny Glover as Red. Fans will also have a chance to hear from and interact with cast members and special guests in the forthcoming exclusive virtual town hall this Thursday, May 20, at 4:00pm ET/1:00pm PT via Zoom. – Finally, via IGN, DC have released the trailer for Batman The Long Halloween Part Two. The animated film chronicles the second half of this yearlong crime saga, based on the comic by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. The film sees the mysterious Holiday Killer continue their deadly crime spree, and District Attorney Harvey Dent pushed to the brink in his quest to bring justice to Gotham City. The sequel will also feature several new additions to the voice cast, including Robin Atkin Downes as both Scarecrow and Thomas Wayne, John DiMaggio as the Mad Hatter, Laila Berzins as Sofia Falcone, Jim Pirri as Sal Maroni, and Zach Callison as the young Bruce Wayne. Batman The Long Halloween Part One will release on June 22, 2021 with Part Two expected later this year.
