In case you missed it, “Mech Cadet Yu” will be ending with issue 12 later this year, and “Usagi Yojimbo” creator Stan Sakai received the first Joe Kubert Distinguished Storyteller Award. It was also announced Carol Burrell joined Lion Forge as CubHouse Executive Editor, while Andrea Colvin was promoted to Editor-in-Chief.

– Titan announced that from August, they will publish two French series, “Millennium: The Girl Who Danced With Death,” and “Assassin’s Creed: Conspiracies.” “The Girl Who Danced With Death,” written by Sylvain Runberg with art by Belen Ortega, was the first Lisbeth Salander comic not based on a previous novel. Be sure to stay tuned to our Isu Codices column for more on “Assassin’s Creed: Conspiracies.”

– Parallax Media Ventures and John Hart Studios are developing B.C. – Back to Civilization, an animated feature film based on the famous newspaper strip, “B.C.” Both studios will be pitching the project at the Licensing Expo this week in Las Vegas. Back to Civilization is scheduled to be released in early 2021.

– Peter Tomasi, writer of “Super Sons,” will be continuing the story of Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne in the 12-issue maxiseries, “Adventures of the Super Sons.” The artist of the upcoming title has yet to be determined. The first issue is scheduled to be released on August 1.

– DC Comics will also have a two-part crossover in August titled ‘Sink Atlantis,’ which will run in “Suicide Squad” #45 and “Aquaman” #39. In the story, Task Force X will be sent to Atlantis by Amanda Waller to remove Atlantis as a world power, and retrieve an item she seeks. Dan Abnett and Rob Williams will co-write the story, which Jose Luis and Vicente Cifuentes will draw the respective chapters of.

– Mark Millar and Image Comics published a letter to retailers regarding pre-orders for “The Magic Order” #1. Should the issue sell out, the comic book issue will receive no additional printings. Millar and Image “love the idea of making (the comic book issue) genuinely sought after.” “The Magic Order” #1 is scheduled for release in stores on June 13.

– Donny Cates, writer of the current “Venom” series, will write “Web of Venom: Ve’Nam,” scheduled for release in August with art from Juanan Ramirez. The one-shot appears to be a reference to “The ‘Nam,” a Marvel comic book series which was published from 1986 to 1993.

– DC Comics announced musician Brann Dailor, co-founder of Mastodon, released his first-ever solo track titled “Red Death.” The single was inspired by “Dark Days: The Road To Metal,” written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV with art by Jim Lee, Andy Kubert and John Romita Jr.

– Image also announced an original soundtrack to the new series, “The Weatherman.” Along with Magic Sword, the soundtrack features contributions from other synthwave artists including Dance with the Dead, Power Glove, Pylot, Le Matos and Makeup and Vanity Set.

– Season 2 of the Netflix series Luke Cage will include cameos from Gary Clark Jr., Rakim and Ghostface Killah. After the success of the first season, the series is becoming a display for urban musical artists. Season 2 of Luke Cage will premiere on June 22 on Netflix.

– Camila Zhang, a DC Comics Assistant Editor from 2011 to 2014, has been hired as the new Comics Outreach Lead for Kickstarter. In her new position, Zhang will work with comic book writers, artists and publishers on their campaigns for Kickstarter and Drip in addition to promoting the platforms to customers.
