In case you missed it Image Comics will be publishing a follow-up to the 2009 book “Green Monk.” We also have an exclusive preview of next week’s “Marvel Two-in-One #6.”

Boba Fett will be getting the spotlight in a standalone movie in the not too distant future. James Mangold, the writer/director of Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine and Logan, is developing the script and will direct the film starring the iconic armored bounty hunter.

– There was a lot in the news about the Dakota Access Pipeline, but no less important and equally as controversial is the planned pipeline it’s to meet up with, the Bayou Bridge Pipeline in Louisiana. The cartoonist Vulpes posted to The Nib a strip detailing how dangerous and destructive the BBP owned by Energy Transfer Partners is likely to be, and how it will likely accelerate the disappearance of Louisiana.

– Image Comics announced today via press release that in September they will print a collection culled from Marian Churchland’s long running popular blog Hchom.com titled “The HCHOM Book.” In addition to that, Howard Chaykin’s new book ”Hey Kids! Comics!” will be out in August, pulling back the curtain back on the comics industry revealing both the good and the ill about the “giants in comics.”

– Rebellion revealed that from August, they will publish a three-issue Sniper Elite comic, based on their video games of the same name. Written by Keith Richardson and with art from Patrick Goddard, “Sniper Elite Resistance” will follow a sniper airdropped into Occupied France.

– Richardson and Rob Power will also pen Rebellion’s reboot of classic British football comic strip “Roy of the Rovers,” drawn by Lisa Henke. The strip will be serialized in Match of the Day magazine, starting with the issue out on June 5. The designs are by Ben Wilsher, who will illustrate the graphic novels by Rob Williams due out later this year.

– Turkish cartoonist Seyfi Şahin received a jail sentence of 1 year and 15 days for his cartoon featuring Moses in the now defunct magazine “Girgir.” The cartoon in question was seen as insulting to the Jewish community, and though Şahin apologized, the courts believed his history showed he might again draw potentially insensitive work.

– The classic Czech comic “Rychlé šípy” (“Fast Arrows” in English) has celebrated its 80th anniversary with a hardcover printing of new stories. The original comics and adventure books from author Jaroslav Folgar started in 1938, and followed the adventures of a group of five boys. There are planned events and exhibitions of the comics planned to run from May of this year until May 2019.

– Marvel fans have been giving their newborns Marvel character names recently. Beyond the obvious few, names like Wade, Banner, Parker, Loki, Valkyrie, Hawkeye and the Marvel company name itself have been bestowed on children recently.

– Docklands Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, will be renamed in the near future after a deal with the Walt Disney Company. The stadium, which has been called Colonial Stadium, the Telstra Dome, and most recently Etihad Stadium, will be known as Marvel Stadium come this September.

– Finally, cartoonist Julia Kaye is raising funds for facial feminization surgery. Kaye, who is transgender, only recently began transitioning in the past year or so. She is best known for the webcomic “Up and Out,” and recently released her graphic memoir “Super Late Bloomer: My Early Days in Transition.” So far, approximately $7000 of the $20,000 required has been raised.
