In case you missed it, Amazon’s comiXology Originals imprint, which has published several digital-first titles in the past year, have released their first spate of creator-owned digital comics. Also, BOOM! Studios announced that they will publish “The Great Wiz and the Ruckus,” an all-ages graphic novel written and drawn by Joey McCormick (“Adventure Time”), with colors by Whitney Cogar (“Steven Universe”), for a February 2019 release.

– Top Shelf/IDW will be releasing a colorized version of Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell’s controversial series “From Hell.” The new version will represent the classic in full color with Eddie Campbell himself providing the colors (along with minor art corrections). Campbell explained to Entertainment Weekly that Top Shelf had proposed re-releasing “From Hell” in a serialized format, but Campbell only approved going forward with it on the condition that he be allowed to colorize the entire saga. Moore and Campbell’s critically acclaimed exploration of the Jack the Ripper murders was originally serialized in black and white between 1989 and 1998. The new version, titled “From Hell: Master Edition,” will be released across ten issues from September.

– A glitch in the system apparently caused industry badges to be denied to several comics creators who were set to attend the New York City Comic Con. The NYCC has notified comics professionals of this mishap and promise that they are working to correct the situation.

– Exhibitor Relations is reporting that the Spider-Man theatrical spin-off Silver & Black has been removed from Sony’s official release schedule. The film (which was to feature Spidey friends Black Cat and Silver Sable) was originally slated for a February 2019 release but is now labelled “undated.” The decision reflects recent comments by director Gina Prince-Bythewood that “it [the script] gotta be right. And if it’s not right, we actually collectively decided to go back to the drawing board and start over.”

– Image Comics announced that the critically acclaimed webcomic “Battlepug” by Mike Norton will be released in a single trade paperback titled “Compugdium.” “Compugdium” will collect the entire fantasy series along with new and exclusive bonus material. The trade hits book stores in January 2019.

– Marvel Comics has given us a sneak peek at “X-Men Red” artist Carmen Carnero’s first few pages and it looks like her fans will be in for a treat. Carnero (“Cyclops,” “Superior Foes of Spider-Man”) will be joining series writer Tom Taylor as of July’s issue 6.

– The Bridgehampton’s Children’s Museum of The East End (CMEE) hosted a Fundraiser on Saturday, June 2, to honor Frank Miller (“The Dark Knight Returns,” “Superman: Year One”), along with longtime museum supporters Barrie Glabman and Adam Schwartz. The Long Island fundraiser will benefit the museum and help them to kickstart a new service learning initiative for local teens.

– Dark Horse Comics inadvertently omitted the regularly scheduled ‘Tales from Harrow County’ by Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook from last week’s “Harrow County” #31, So they are generously offering the one page horror story to readers free of charge over at their website DarkHorse.com.

– X-Men fans rejoice! FX has ordered a third season for the X-related character Legion. Legion, the mentally unstable mutant son of Professor Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller was created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz way back in 1985, and has enjoyed healthy ratings and a solid fanbase in its first two seasons. FX recently announced a special 11th episode for the current (second) season.

– And finally we can can report the results of the latest Multiversity Comics Readers poll. In our most recent poll we wanted to know what your favorite Stuart Immonen illustrated title is. Well, you have spoken and the winner is Immonen’s run on Warren Ellis’s critically acclaimed “Nextwave” series, followed closely by his work on “Superman: Secret Identity,” and his run on “All-New X-Men” coming in with a solid third place showing.
