Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– Grant Gustin has confirmed on Twitter that the first episode of The Flash Season 3 will be titled ‘Flashpoint’. With how the second season ended, this isn’t surprising and it’ll be interesting to see what they do with that concept. Hopefully we won’t see Thomas Wayne running around in a Batsuit with two handguns. Jesus, that event was stupid.
– Marvel has announced through Vulture what those ‘Mosaic’ teasers we saw a while back were for. Turns out, it was for a new ongoing series spinning out of “Uncanny Inhumans” #1 which will be by Geoffrey Thorne and Khary Randolph. The series will be about an Inhuman character who loses his corporeal form and must inhabit the bodies of others. It’s very Quantum Leap, from the sounds of it. That Vulture article also includes an interview with Thorne and Randolph that goes in depth about the new series that you should definitely check out.
– With “Mosaic” announced, Marvel put out a new teaser image for their upcoming Marvel NOW! initiative that shows Steve Rogers and Mosaic on either side of the image with a shattering effect separating them and the word ‘Divided…’ prominently featured. What does this mean? Hell if I know.
– So… Hannibal Buress is in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Let that sink in for a second. Hannibal Buress is in a Spider-Man movie. That’s maybe the greatest thing to happen all year. I want him to play Uncle Ben. Please let him play Uncle Ben. Please, Marvel. Bring in Eric Andre as Aunt May. Do it for me.
– Also, it’s been reported that Noomi Rapace has joined Alien: Covenant, which is the sequel to Prometheus and yet another prequel to Alien. This is interesting because it seemed like Ridley Scott was trying to ditch most of Prometheus from the story. Maybe this won’t be as much of a trainwreck? Only time will tell.
