In case you missed it, Marvel have announced they have acquired the comic book licenses to the Alien and Predator franchises, which had belonged to Dark Horse since 1988.

– Richard Starkings and Axel Medellin will reunite for “Elephantmen 2261 Season 3: Theo Laroux Meets The Elephantmen.” Via an interview with Newsarama, Starkings discussed the new limited series starting with the introduction of Theo Laroux, a new character based on the documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux. This new comiXology exclusive will follow Laroux as he interacts with the most prominent Elephantmen to document their effect on human society. “Elephantmen 2261 Season 3: Theo Laroux Meets The Elephantmen” #1 will be available July 7, 2020. You can read the rest of Starkings’s interview here.

– Comic book retailers and Diamond Distributors are clashing over shipping costs, says The Hollywood Reporter. Retailers say that payments to Diamond in recent weeks have increased, in part because of a new policy that sees orders divided up into more shipments, leading to more charges. Some retailers have also reported an increase of wholesale from 6 percent to 25 percent. Diamond denies hiking shipping costs intentionally, shifting the blame to publishers citing DC’s recent change in distribution. And while Diamond seems unrepentant, in this case the company is eating into comic book retailers’ profits at the same time it runs a promotional campaign intended to raise funds for those same retailers.

– Via Mashable, in celebration of Back to the Future‘s 35th anniversary, the franchise will be crossing over with IDW’s “Transformers” franchise and will release a new character, fittingly named Gigawatt, in the form of Doc Brown’s DeLorean. An action figure will be released alongside a four-issue miniseries which follows Marty as he evades the Decepticons, who have caught wind of Doc’s time machine. The limited edition version of Gigawatt – of which only 1,985 numbered boxes will be released – is available for pre-order on Walmart’s website. Another version of Gigawatt is coming to HasbroPulse.com plus “select retailers” on Oct. 1, 2020, which is also the same day the first issue of the comic releases.

– Dynamite have announced that Garth Ennis and Darick Robinson’s “The Boys” has been adapted into novel form, and the first volume is available now in print and digitally. Writer Dan Wickline takes a deep dive into the story and will adapt the original storyline while adding new material to the official canon. You can view a teaser trailer for the novel here. The Boys: Name of the Game is available now.

– Via The Wrap, Netflix has ordered a new animated series called DeadEndia, based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Hamish Steele. The graphic novels are held in high regard for the diversity of the characters’ identities and experiences, including main character Barney, a transgender teenager, and the non-neurotypical Norma. The cast includes Emily Osment, Kody Kavitha, Zach Barack and more. Blink Industries studio in London will produce the series, and it is set to premiere in 2021.

– Finally, the CW announced they will not be renewing the Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene for a second season, citing its poor performance on linear and digital platforms. Variety reports the show’s producer, Warner Bros., “intends to explore possibilities to keep it going on another platform” (eg. HBO Max). Lucy Hale, the show’s star, appeared to be more certain about its cancellation though, commenting in an emotional Instagram video, “Long story short I am just grateful, I’m grateful for the role of a lifetime, what a blast.”
