In case you missed it, Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Geraldo Borges are relaunching “Thunderbolts” in December.

– Image imprint Top Cow and video game developer EP1T0ME Studios are reteaming for horror thriller “Destiny Gate.” Based on a game concept by Paul Limon, the comic follows Mitchell Slate, a Depression era man returning to his family after struggling to find work, when his train journey “veers off the rails and transforms into a macabre and darkly fantastical journey into his own fragile soul.” It was written by Ryan Cady, with art by Christian DiBari (who’s drawn two previous Top Cow/EP1T0ME collaborations, “Revolvers” and “The Clay People: Colossus”), and coloring by Simon Gough. The first issue will be released on October 11.

– AHOY announced a two-part “Wrong Earth” spin-off, “The Wrong Earth: We Can Be Heroes,” to mark the series (and publisher)’s fifth anniversary. Written by Tom Peyer with art by Jamal Igle and Juan Castro, the book will see Earth-Alpha’s police, government, and banks get “taken over by dastardly villains” during Dragonflyman, Dragonfly, and its other heroes’ absence, prompting new crimefighters to emerge to take them down. The comic, which will also contain Mark Russell’s installment of the prose serial Partially Naked Came the Corpse!, will begin on October 4.

– Marvel will relaunch “Carnage” with writer Torunn Grønbekk and artist Pere Pérez at the helm this November. Picking up from next month’s weekly “Death of the Venomverse” event, the new series will see the symbiote seek to reunite with its original host, Cletus Kasady. Marvel describes the book as setting up the next Venom-centric event. The previous volume of “Carnage,” which was launched by Ram V and Francesco Manna, concluded after 14 issues with the ‘Carnage Reigns’ crossover last month, with the pair returning to round out their run in this week’s one-shot “Web of Carnage.”

– Meanwhile, Marvel Unlimited have launched a six-part “Brute Force Infinity Comic,” written by Paul Scheer and Nick Giovannetti with art by Geoffo and colorist Dee Cunniffe. The comic marks the cyborg animals’ first series since their 1990 debut, created by Simon Furman, Jose Delbo, and Mike DeCarlo, and sees them try to uncover the truth about their origins. It comes a couple of months after the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which caused some readers to comment on the similarity of some of its characters to Brute Force, although Scheer had previously explored the group on Disney+’s documentary series Marvel’s 616. All issues are available to read now on the app.

– Via Vanity Fair, DC revealed Superman: Legacy will include Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class) as Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, and Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern Guy Gardner. (It was not stated which version of Hawkgirl Merced, 22, will play.) Fillion, who has appeared in every James Gunn film, ironically played Hal Jordan in several animated movies, while Merced is also appearing in next year’s Madame Web movie. It will mark the first time any of these characters have appeared in a live-action film. Superman: Legacy, directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, will be released on July 11, 2025.

– DC also dropped the second trailer for Blue Beetle, showing more of Xolo Maridueña’s Jaime Reyes learning to master the powers of the Scarab (voiced by Becky G), as well as Susan Sarandon and Raoul Max Trujillo as villains Victoria Kord and Carapax. Carapax, who was a cyborg in the comics, is seen in both a prototype armor, and a final nanotech form that bonds grotesquely to his body; likewise, we get a gross glimpse of the Scarab after it fuses to Jaime’s spine. It concludes with Jaime’s grandma, played by Adriana Barraza, entering the fray after recovering a rotary cannon from Ted Kord’s lab. The movie releases in theaters August 18.

– Disney+ released the second trailer for the Ahsoka series, giving us our first proper look at Lars Mikkelsen’s live-action Thrawn, plus more of the late Ray Stevenson as dark side acolyte Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as his apprentice Shin Hati, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. Sabine in particular gets the most emphasis, with some insight offered into why she wasn’t at Ahsoka’s side in Rosario Dawson’s previous Star Wars appearances. The first two episodes of Ahsoka will premiere on August 23.

– Netflix released a teaser for Wingwomen (Voleuses or Thieves in France), the film adaptation of Jérôme Mulot, Bastien Vivès and Florent Ruppert’s graphic novel “The Grande Odalisque.” Directed by Mélanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds), the film revolves around Sam (Manon Bresch), a motorcyclist who joins two veteran art thieves (Laurent and Adèle Exarchopoulos) for a daring final heist. The movie, co-starring Isabelle Adjani, will be released on the streamer on November 1. Until then, you can also read an interview with Laurent at Variety (where, for the record, the recently reported sexual allegations about Ruppert are not discussed.)

– New Zealand filmmaker James Ashcroft will direct a film based on the AWA series “Old Haunts.” Created by Ollie Masters, Rob Williams, and Laurence Campbell, the horror comic followed three retiring gangsters, who find themselves haunted by the literal ghosts of their past, giving them “no choice but to unearth the deepest, darkest sin from their past and pray they don’t find an empty grave.” The screenplay was written by Aaron Rabin (Secret Invasion), and is among several projects Ashcroft has had lined up since his feature film debut, Coming Home in the Dark, premiered at Sundance in 2021.

– Finally, Good Shepherd Entertainment debuted a one-minute gameplay trailer for Hellboy: Web of Wyrd at the ID@Xbox Showcase. The trailer marked several months since the upcoming roguelite brawler was revealed at the Game Awards in December, and nearly four months after lead voice actor Lance Reddick died unexpectedly in March. It will be released on Xbox One and Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5, PC and Nintendo Switch sometime in the near future.
