In case you missed it, “The Right Bots for the Job” are returning to IDW in “Transformers: Wreckers – Tread & Circuits.”

– Archie Comics announced that “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” will return with issue #9 on October 13. Writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will return to handle writing duties, while Robert Hack will draw. The publisher also announced “The Occult World of Sabrina,” also helmed by Aguirre-Sacasa, with art by Audrey Mok, which will pick up where the Netflix version of the series’s finale left off. It will debut sometime later this year.

– In a new one-shot spinning out of Kieron Gillen and Esad Ribic’s “Eternals” ongoing, Ajax and Makkari will find themselves fighting against the Avengers of 1,000,000 BCE. “Eternals: Celestia” #1, written by Gillen with art from Kei Zama, will see the two immortals battle the ancient Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, as they try to make sense of their new status quo. Though Gillen confessed he is particularly excited about using the prehistoric superteam. “I’ll be honest,” the writer says, “The first time I saw Ghost Rider on the back of a Mammoth, I did think ‘I’ll be having some of that, thank you very much.’” The one-shot will be on sale October 6.

– Marvel also revealed that Genis-Vell will return to the pages of “Captain Marvel” during the ‘The Last of the Marvels’ story arc. Starting in issue #32 of writer Kelly Thompson and artist Sergio Dávila’s current run, the arc will see Carol Danvers team up with Kamala Khan to battle a returning dark presence. While plot details are still under wraps, Marvel did reveal that the son of the original Mar-Vell, who once also held the Captain Marvel title, will return in issue #33. ‘The Last of the Marvels’ begins this September. “Captain Marvel” #33 hits shelves on October 6.

– The World Press Cartoon organization announced its 2021 winners and runners up. Taking both the Grand Prix and first place in the Gag category was Italian artist Mariagrazia Quaranta, aka Gio, for her piece from the online newspaper Mundiario. Mexico’s Darío Castillejos took the top prize in the Caricature category for his drawing of Greta Thunberg as Little Red Riding Hood holding the world in her basket.

In the Heights star Leslie Grace will portray Barbara Gordon in the upcoming Batgirl film, Deadline reported yesterday. Grace was cast after a strong screen test, though her performance in the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical had already put her on Warner Bros.’s radars. The movie will debut exclusively on the HBO Max streaming service, making it the first DC property to do so. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys for Life) will direct the feature, with Christina Hodson scripting and Kristin Burr producing.

– Michaela Coel, known for her work in Black Mirror, Chewing Gum and I May Destroy You, has been cast in Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Marvel has not yet confirmed her role. Production of Wakanda Forever began at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios last month. Coel is a writer, director, producer, and actor, having done all four in last year’s I May Destroy You for HBO Max. Wakanda Forever is scheduled to hit theaters July 8, 2022.

– Josh Segarra (Arrow) has joined the cast of Disney+’s She-Hulk series. While Disney has yet to confirm who Segarra will portray in the superhero legal comedy, he joins a line-up that includes Emmy Award-winning Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany in the title role, The Good Place‘s Jameela Jamil as Jennifer Walters’s rival Titania, and Avengers star Mark Ruffalo resuming his MCU role as Bruce Banner.

– Warner Bros. Animation are adapting NetherRealm’s video game Injustice: Gods Among Us into a feature film this fall, and The Hollywood Reporter have revealed the voice cast. The upcoming film, which also draws influence from writer Tom Taylor and co.’s “Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One,” will see Superman (Justin Hartley) turn conqueror after the murder of Lois Lane (Laura Bailey), and Batman (Anson Mount) form a resistance against him. Matt Peters (Justice League Dark) will direct with Ernie Altbacker (Batman: Hush) scripting. The film is slated for this fall.

– Finally, Joshua Dysart is speaking out about unpaid royalties for his work on Valiant’s “Harbinger.” When Valiant was revived in 2012, property royalty pools were created to ensure that everyone who worked on a book received payment for their work. However, since DMG acquired Valiant, Dysant has received no payment from the company, although the book was optioned by Paramount in 2019. Language in the contract states dispersal would be at “Valiant’s sole, absolute and unfettered discretion.” In addition, “Harbinger” creator Jim Shooter claims to have not received any compensation since leaving the company.
