ICYMI: Marvel Studios made a slew of announcements, and released the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer at their San Diego Comic-Con panel. Warner Bros. also revealed the Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer, while DC unveiled a YA Superman OGN, “Superman: The Harvests of Youth.”

– Marvel Comics made several announcements, including ‘Avengers Assemble,’ a crossover between Jason Aaron’s “Avengers” and “Avengers Forever.” It will kick off with an “Alpha” issue on November 30, featuring art by Bryan Hitch. The publisher also announced a “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” revival coming in December, written by novelist Jordan Ifueko (Raybearer) with art by Alba Glez (“Laura from the Sacred Land”); and “Gold Goblin,” a ‘Dark Web’ tie-in mini by Christopher Cantwell and Lan Medina, starring Norman Osborn’s heroic new alter-ego.
Furthermore, Marvel revealed Cantwell’s “Iron Man” run will end with November’s “Iron Man” #25, which will also mark issue #650 of the Armored Avenger’s solo series. The oversized comic, drawn by Angel Unzueta, will feature additional stories by Murewa Ayodele & Dotun Akande, and Kurt Busiek & Ben Dewey. Finally, the company teased a new series from Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti coming in 2023, that Hickman described at San Diego Comic-Con as “‘The Sandman’ for the Marvel Universe.” The tagline for it reads, “What happens when the powers that be meet the natural order of things?”
– IDW announced “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Lost Years,” a prequel to “The Last Ronin.” Plot details were vague, but it will presumably depict how Michelangelo became the last surviving Ninja Turtle. Co-writer Tom Waltz told io9, “It offers our many loyal readers a much more detailed look at the Ronin’s past, as well as sharing a glimpse of an exciting future for the many allies he’s been forced to leave behind.” Waltz and Kevin Eastman will return for the series with artist Ben Bishop, now joined by S.L. Gallant. Issue #1 (of 5) will be released in November.
– “Fullmetal Alchemist” creator Hiromu Arakawa’s latest manga, “Daemons of the Shadow Realm,” will be released by Square Enix Manga & Books in English, beginning April 25, 2023. Begun in July 2021, “Daemons of the Shadow Realm” follows twins Yuru and Asa, whose destiny is to become lords of “mighty supernatural duos called Daemons.” The pair are raised in an isolated mountain village, until the day it comes under attack, and Yuru is “is whisked away and forbidden to return to the only home and family he’s ever known. And to ensure his safety, the two statues who once stood guard over the village have joined the fight — the Divine Left and Right!”
– At a San Diego Comic-Con panel for Image’s ‘Supermassive’ universe, it was announced there will be a five-part “Radiant Pink” series, written by Meghan Camarena with art by Emma Kubert. Radiant Pink, real name Eva, is a video game streamer with the ability to teleport, and her solo comic will introduce her love interest Kelly. Camarena previously co-wrote Eva’s origin story in “Radiant Black” #12. It was also stated a second “Supermassive” crossover will be released in April 2023.
– Zack Snyder will be making a guest appearance on Teen Titans Go! Snyder will appear on the show’s 365th episode, simply titled “365!,” which will see the Titans head to the Warner Bros. lot to find a director who’ll make the episode “extra special.” The episode will air this fall. It was also announced De La Soul will make a return to the show, following their appearance in season six’s “Don’t Press Play.”
– Finally, at SDCC’s Star Trek panel, it was announced Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season two will have a Lower Decks crossover episode, mixing live-action and animation. Paramount also released the trailer for Lower Decks season three, and a teaser for Picard season three, as well as posters spotlighting all the returning faces in the latter series. Lower Decks returns with new episodes on Paramount+ on August 25, while Picard and Strange New Worlds will resume sometime next year.
