– Kicking off, the Titans live-action series which will debut on DC’s new streaming service in 2018, has its first casting announcement. The Australian actress Teagan Croft has been cast as Raven for the upcoming series from Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter, and Warner Bros TV. The 13-year old actress is making her US debut with Titans. Does the fact that she’s 13 mean that the other actors to come will also skew more to the “Teen” aspect of the “Titans?”
– There was a lot of new Legends of Tomorrow info at the 2017 Tv Critics’ Association summer tour, including updates on the villains, and the mention the Legends would find themselves up against a supernatural team led by Neal McDonough’s Damian Darhk. Darhk, who died on season four of Arrow and was a part of the Legion of Doom on Legends last season, will be resurrected somehow as the season long plot revolves around the team fighting “anachronisms,” or things appearing in time periods they shouldn’t. In addition, Gorilla Grodd, the most Groddiest Grodd we’ve seen in the Arrowverse will make an appearance, along with Paul Blackthorne’s Quentin Lance most likely, a “bizarro” Captain Cold played by Wentworth Miller, and the hopes of a return of Matt Ryan’s Constantine to combat the magic.
– The Harvey Awards are skipping 2017 in order to finalize plans to make New York Comic-Con the new home for the awards ceremony. The awards honor the legacy of creator Harvey Kurtzman. “We are thrilled to host such an iconic award show during one of the biggest comic events of the year, New York Comic Con,” said Lance Fensterman, Global Head of ReedPOP who host NYCC. In place of the awards there is a reception celebrating Kurtzman as part of NYCC on October 7th.
– DC has revealed the covers from artist Jason Fabok for two of the upcoming “Batmen” one-shots for “Metal.” The two covers that were revealed were “Batman: The Red Death,” written by Joshua Williamson and art by Carmine di Giandomenico, and “Batman: The Murder Machine” from Frank Tieri and Ricardo Federici. Artist Jason Fabok took to Twitter to highlight that the covers were inspired by his son’s Thomas the Tank Engine toys. In the “Murder Machine” cover it also looks like Hal Jordan is missing his right arm which has led to speculation he will somehow lose the appendage in “Metal.” The issues are due out September 20th and 27th respectively.
