– Boy howdy, there is a lot of news to cover so let’s just get right to it. It has been announced that there will be a new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this Thursday during the Olympic coverage. If this is the trailer shown at Star Wars Celebration Europe last month, prepare for very similar footage to the first trailer with an epic tease of a major character at the end.

– Also in Rogue One news, Entertainment Weekly is counting down the days to the new trailer with some interesting coverage including director Gareth Edwards talking about a new planet featured in the film, Jedha. Many of us, I think, assumed the desert-looking planet in the footage we’ve seen was likely Tattooine (because we assume all sandy planets are Tattooine), but it is actually a very religious planet that people pilgrimage to in order to worship the Force and that has been occupied by the Empire. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.

– In a final bit of Star Wars news, the premiere date for the third season of Star Wars: Rebels has been announced. The season premiere will be an hour long episode titled ‘Steps Into Shadow’ and will air on Disney XD on September 24 at 8:30 ET/PT (which I’m sure makes sense to you Americans) and will feature the introduction of Grand Admiral Thrawn to the series. Be sure to be on the lookout for the return of my Five Thoughts coverage of the series!

– Moving on from the wars in the stars and back to actual comic news (kind of), IGN has revealed that CW’s Legends Of Tomorrow has cast Sarah Grey as Stargirl in it’s second season. This is cool, but what it really says to me is that we’re one step closer to seeing Jack Knight in a CW show and I can already tell that’s what’s going to kill our very own Brian Salvatore.

TheWrap has report that Warner Bros has put a Man Of Steel sequel into active development. Now, I thought that Batman V. Superman was technically a Man Of Steel sequel, but apparently I was wrong? Also, for some reason, someone at Warner Bros is still confident in their current slate of DC movies despite all three of them making nowhere near as much money as they needed and getting a slating from critics, so… points to them for commitment?

– You may have heard that season three of Gotham (boy, I can’t believe we’ve survived three years of that show) will be aging up it’s version of Poison Ivy for… some reason. Well, we have our first look at Maggie Geha as the new Ivy. Turns out, she’s just a redhead in a green dress. I… y’know, I got nothing. This show is garbage and needs to end, I’m sorry. It’s the worst.

– Finally, Entertainment Weekly has also revealed that Susan Walters will be playing Caitlin Snow’s mother in the third season of The Flash. This is… interesting and I wonder if it’s going to factor into the Flashpoint storyline as we know Caitlin has a frosty relationship with her mother, so could we see a Caitlin with a positive relationship with her mother in an alternate universe? Anything’s possible.
