– IDW have announced they will offer “G.I. Joe” #7 for free digitally during the month of September, in observance of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. “G.I. Joe” #7 features Scarlett, who suffers from the realities of a life of combat, and recalls how she found her way to the G.I. Joe movement. The publisher said, “Issue #7 presents an honest look at the psychological impact of combat, with real depictions of overcoming the stigma around seeking mental health treatment, peer support, setbacks during treatment, and recovery.” “G.I. Joe” #7 is available now, and you can read it for free here. If you are in crisis or are experiencing difficult or suicidal thoughts, call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273 TALK (8255).

– Via Broken Frontier, UK publisher SelfMadeHero have announced three new releases for the fall. “The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists,” by Scarlett and Sophie Rickard, is adapted from Robert Tressell’s 1914 socialist novel about English working-class life, and follows the journeyman house painter Frank Owen, and his persuasive conviction that capitalism is the true source of the poverty. “When I Came Out” from first-time creator Anne Mette Kærulf Lorentzen, is an autobiographical work that addresses the personal anxieties surrounding the identity of sexuality. Finally, in “Zátopek,” author Jan Novák and artist Jaromír 99 trace the life and times of the great Olympian Emil Zátopek, from his first meeting with his beloved wife Dana, to the many victories that would ensure his legacy. “The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists” and “Zátopek” are available now, while “When I Came Out” will be available on October 6, 2020.

– EuroNews reports that Instagram has apologized for temporarily disabling the accounts of two Charlie Hebdo journalists, who had shared the front page of the magazine with the reproduction of cartoons of the prophet Mohammad. Journalist Laure Daussy and cartoonist Coco Boer, both posted on Twitter that their accounts had been disabled. The French satirical magazine had republished cartoons of Mohammad which had first been published in 2006, and were cited by Islamic extremists as a reason for the January 2015 terror attack on the magazine’s offices, when 12 employees were murdered and 11 more were injured. Instagram quickly restored the accounts, saying, “These accounts were removed by mistake. We restored them as soon as this was brought to our attention and we’re so sorry for any confusion or distress caused.”

When her mom suddenly remarries, she gains an older stepbrother, Ryo, who only wants to hang out with his friends. Both titles are available to read now on the Mangamo app for iPhone and iPad, available for download on the Apple App Store. Mangamo is offering a 30-day free trial for new users. Mangamo launched for iOS earlier this year, and a version of the app for Android is in development.

– Finally, in a string of tweets, Christopher Yost spoke about the 10th anniversary of Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, stating “I get asked all the time if there was a season 3 of Avengers, what would it have been? Producer Josh Fine and I always said it would be magic and mutants. So I figured for the 10th anniversary, I’d put together a kind of a What If…? #AvengersEMH10.” Yost went on to add, “to be absolutely clear, there have been absolutely no conversations about the show coming back on my end. This is just something fun for the anniversary.” Yost tweeted “9.22.20 #AvengersEMH10,” indicating fans check his Twitter page on September 22, ten years to the day of the show’s premiere.
