– Duke Thomas’s new costume for “Batman and the Signal,” coming this November, has been revealed. The miniseries by Scott Snyder and Tony Patrick will feature Thomas patrolling the dangerous daytime streets of Gotham and dealing with the drama of being a teen crime fighter and attending high-school. Patrick said it was his activism for the teens he works with that inspired him with the book.

– Shae Fontana and Yancey Labat are working on the sixth “DC: Superhero Girls” volume, ‘Date with Disaster.’ It is expected to be released February 2018. The story is centered on Batgirl.

– Harley Quinn fans will be getting a third monthly dose of Ms. Quinn sometime in the not too distant future The new title “Harley Loves Joker” started as a back up in “Harley Quinn” since issue #17. Paul Dini, Jimmy Palmiotti and Bret Blevins, who wrote the back ups, will be writing the new monthly.

-Mike Mignola spoke with Chris Arrant at Newsarama about “B.P.R.D. The Devil You Know”, the final story arc for the long-running series. He also talked about upcoming titles like “Koshchei the Deathless,” and “Hellboy: Krampusnacht” and about his experiments with watercolor painting (which he’s put on his website). The tease here comes at the end promising a discussion later about the 2018 Hellboy reboot movie.

– Boom! continues to expand their “Planet of the Apes” books with the announcement of another crossover project. “Kong on the Planet of the Apes” spins out of the original 1968 Planet of the Apes movie with Dr. Zaius and General Ursus leading expedition into the forbidden zone to destroy all traces of the astronaut Taylor presence from their world. The giant ape that they discover leads them into a bigger story.

– Due to production delays, all orders for “Bug the Forager” #5 and #6 have been canceled for the moment. Mike and Laura Allred’s mini-series celebrating Jack “The King” Kirby has been hit with delays for both issue #3, which was a week late, and issue #4, originally intended for August 2nd but will instead be on shelves September 6th. The book will be resolicited.

– Adam West’s final performance as the Batman hits this October 17 with the release of the  Batman vs. Two-Face. Announced last year, this sequel to Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders reunites the star of the 1960s Batman TV series with his co-stars Burt Ward and Julie Newmar. It adds William Shatner as Two-Face.

– Archie Comics writer Ian Flynn is revitalizing a 1950s character, “Cosmo the Merry Martian.” Flynn is bringing the Martian into the present day and adding all new characters. He is excited to create a new ongoing series, saying, “I’ve got high hopes that this will take off. You could say we’re . . . shooting for the stars.”

– A collection of original notes and correspondence between Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster detailing the early origins of the Man if Steel and the eventual sale of the character to DC during the height of the depression has been unearthed.
