– After its brand new run began in March, “X-O Manowar” is finally scheduled to return later this year. Valiant has scheduled issue 2 for release on November 25, 2020. Written by Dennis Hallum with art by Emilio Laiso, “X-O Manowar” #2 will feature three different covers. Cover A will feature art by Christian Ward, Cover B is illustrated by Netho Diaz, and a retailer 1:25 variant will be created by Daniel Warren Johnson.

– Amazon have confirmed that X-Men actor, Shawn Ashmore, will be joining the cast of The Boys in season 2 as Lamplighter, a former member of the Seven. Lamplighter was mentioned several times in season 1, but never seen physically. The character has fiery abilities (quite the opposite of Ashmore’s X-Men character, Iceman), which led to the deaths of Mallory’s grandchildren, and the break-up of the Boys. The first three episodes of The Boys Season 2 drop on Friday, September 4th, with the remaining five episodes to air on a weekly basis after that. Aisha Tyler is set to host an aftershow that kicks off on Friday, August 28 with a season 1 recap.

– Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has announced that his new album Twice As Tall will be released with a comic book titled, “The Secret Flame.” He announced via Twitter that the album and comic book will both release on August 14, 2020. The goal of the comic book is to help put the album’s message into perspective. Merchandise for the album and comic book will also be available.

– Shueisha announced via Twitter that Tatsuya Matsuki and Shiro Usazaki’s manga “Act-Age” has been canceled. The chapter that will appear in the “Weekly Shonen Jump” magazine’s combined 36th and 37th issue will be the final chapter. The cancelation comes after the arrest of Tatsuya Matsuki on August 8, 2020; he was arrested on suspicion of committing an indecent act with a female middle school student. “Act-Age” was launched in “Weekly Shonen Jump” in January 2018, and will conclude in the magazine’s latest issue, released today.

– Actress Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising, 6 Underground, Morbius) is set to star with Diego Luna in Disney+’s Star Wars series, based on Luna’s character, Cassian Andor, from the 2016 spinoff Rogue One. Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, and Kyle Soller have also joined the cast. Details on who Arjona will be portraying have yet to be released. Rogue One co-writer, Tony Gilroy, is set to write the pilot of the new series in addition to directing a few episodes. Gilroy will also serve as the series’ showrunner.

– Dominic Buchanan, an executive producer of The End of the F***ing World, has written a six-page open letter revealing his feelings, after being told by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts that he cannot purchase an award following the show’s wins at the TV Awards last month. The series won Best Drama Series, in competition with The Crown, and Naomie Ackie won Best Supporting Actress. After reaching out to a BAFTA rep asking if he could buy a copy of the award, Buchanan was told that BAFTA does not issue replica masks, and only the four people named by producers on their entry will receive a prize. The full letter can be read here. BAFTA chair Krishnendu Majumdar responded, saying, “BAFTA is always open to discussion with our members as well as the wider industry, and we thank Dominic for raising his concerns. We will continue to speak with him directly, and will be reaching out to the entrant to discuss this further.”

– Mohammed Saeed Baghlaf, a 31-year-old Saudi Arabian citizen, has opened a Manga café called Akiba Café, named after Akihabara, a popular area in Tokyo that is a hub for anime and gaming. At the recently opened café, customers can order drinks and browse the collection of manga for free. Akiba Café also airs popular anime and animated films throughout the day with Arabic subtitles for the customers. Baghlaf is an urban planning engineer who spent over a year living in Japan, where he worked on a project for Tokyo’s 2020 Olympics. Baghlaf was inspired by the manga cafés all around Japan, and decided to take the idea to Saudi Arabia. The café has only been open for a few months, but has been growing in popularity by the day.

– Finally, the late Brandon Lee’s costume from The Crow has sold at an auction over the weekend for $25,000. Lee wore the costume, a black shirt, leather pants, and a trench coat, in multiple scenes, including one of the final shootouts. The actor, and son of Bruce Lee, died after being accidentally shot during the making of the film. He died at 28 years old and would have turned 55 this February.
