In case you missed it, New York Comic Con has announced it will be going digital only this year, and DC Comics has been affected by massive layoffs at WarnerMedia.

– “Sound & Fury: The Graphic Novel” from Z2 Comics has a release date. Originally announced at last year’s New York Comic Con, the collaboration between Marvel superstar Jason Aaron and Grammy-winning country artist Sturgill Simpson is a prequel to Simpson’s album and the accompanying anime of the same name, and will be released on November 17 of this year. Interior artists include Rufus Dayglo, Deathburger, Rosi Kampe, Vasilis Lolos, and Takashi Okazaki. It’s currently available for pre-order for $19.99.

– Did Marvel remove a Black Lives Matter fist from “Miles Morales: Spider-Man” #9? Cover art from both the August 2019 release and the original solicitation have been circulating on Twitter. The solicitation image shows the BLM symbol on a street light, that was left blank on the final cover. A spokesperson for Marvel claims the decision may have been the result of a policy regarding “third party logos” for copyright reasons. The company has since declared support for the BLM movement.

– Action Lab: Danger Zone has released a trailer for “Jupiter Jet and the Forgotten Radio,” due out October 7. The story follows 17-year old superhero Jupiter Jet, as she battles the Black Flyer, and attempts to activate a long lost radio. The book, written by Jason Inman and Ashley V. Robinson with art by Ben Matsuya, is launching after a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this year. The trailer can be viewed on CBR’s YouTube Channel.

– AMC has released a trailer for The Walking Dead: Worlds Beyond. The show is set to premiere on October 4, after its parent series’s finale. This will be the second spin off of the massively successful zombie epic, based on the Image comic of the same name. This new series will focus on a group of survivors in Nebraska, and early reports hint at their involvement in the disappearance of Rick Grimes. The trailer is available on the official Worlds Beyond Twitter account.

– The newest fundraising effort of The Hero Initiative will be the ”Batman 100 Project.” This will be the latest in a series of 100 Projects, that feature such diverse series as Adventure Time, Wonder Woman, and The Hulk. These 100 Projects select a recent issue of a comic run, and produce a hundred new covers for it. For “Batman Project 100,” the comic will be “Batman” #75, the start of Tom King’s ‘City of Bane’ story arc. The collection will be auctioned off at HeritageAuctions.com from September 13-19, then go on sale to the public in November. The full gallery can be viewed on The Hero Initiative’s website.

– Finally, to promote the upcoming sci-fi romance comic “Lonely Receiver,” series writer Zac Thompson has created a Spotify playlist for the book. The playlist, titled I’m the Maker of My Own Evil, features twenty songs from a variety of artists, including Daft Punk, M83, and The Pet Shop Boys. The playlist can be found here. “Lonely Receiver” #1 will be released on September 2.
