In case you missed it, the 2022 Harvey Award nominees have been announced, Marvel unveiled “Star Wars: Hidden Empire,” the final chapter of a writer Charles Soule and artist Steven Cummings’s Qi’ra trilogy, and Disney will publish “Part of Your World: A Twisted Tale Graphic Novel.” We also have an exclusive preview of next week’s “Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight.”

– Kicking off with “Murderworld: Avengers” #1, a new series of one-shots will explore the depths of Arcade’s death park, following a young documentarian as he descends into the domain of the eccentric Marvel villain. Jim Zub and Ray Fawkes will handle writing duties with a variety of artists. Jethro Morales will handle the first installment focusing on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Subsequent one-shots will follow Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Moon Knight, before wrapping up in the finale issue. “Murderworld: Avengers” #1 is due out November 16.

– Non-binary actor Zoe Terakes has joined the cast of Disney+’s Ironheart. Terakes is the most recent addition to the MCU in Marvel’s attempts to diversify its film/TV properties, following Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel. They join a cast that includes Dominique Thorne in the title role, along with Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, and Shea Couleé.

– Dark Horse announced a Library Edition of Jeff Lemire and Jock’s comiXology series “Snow Angels” will be released in early 2023. It will be the first comiXology Original to be released in the hardcover format. The publisher also new trade paperbacks for Frank Miller and Geof Darrow’s “The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot,” and “Hard Boiled,” will be released in March 2023, with new cover art by Darrow and Dave Stewart: you can check them out here.

– Z2’s “Phoo Action: Silver Jubilee” will collect Jamie Hewlett’s “Get the Freebies” strip, making it the first complete collection of the comic in English. Hewlett is best known as the co-creator of “Tank Girl” and animated music act Gorillaz. The title “Phoo Action” comes from a 2008 television pilot Hewlett produced for the BBC based on the strip. “Silver Jubilee” also comes with an introductory comic for the unproduced second season of the series, and an introduction and prose novel from Mat Wakeham explaining how the following chapters would have gone. The story follows “Whitey Action, a cynical teen and potty-mouthed heroine, alongside Terry Phoo, a hapless kung-fu super cop,” as they battle the mutant Feebles gang. The book is due out late November 2022, and can be preordered on Z2’s website.

– Another series getting collected for the first time, as the four-issue DC miniseries “The Nazz” is set to receive its first ever collected edition from It’s Alive. The 1990 mini, which sees its protagonist Michael Nazareth turn himself superhuman (though somehow less than human) by way of ancient ritual, has been out of print for decades. It is being published by way of an IndieGoGo campaign, with an expected ship date of December 2023. It’s Alive struck a deal with artist Bryan Talbot and late writer Tom Veitch’s estate to publish the collection, and it will feature additional extras like cover art galleries and essays.

– ‘Failsafe,’ the first arc of writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Jorge Jiménez’s “Batman” run, is set to wrap up at the end of the year. The final two chapters (#129 and #130, due out November and December respectively) will see the Dark Knight attempt to outthink and outmaneuver the titular cybernetic villain. Both issues will feature back-up stories from Zdarsky and artist Leonardo Romero exploring Bruce Wayne’s backup identity, the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh.

– Valiant has revealed the release dates for their three upcoming books. Writer Deniz Camp and artist Jon Davis-Hunt will helm “Bloodshot Unleashed,” due out September 21 (last day to preorder August 29). In addition to exploring the origins of the nanomachine powered hero, this will be the publisher’s first mature readers title. The following January, writer Cullen Bunn and artist Vicente Cifuentes will bring us “Book of Shadows,” a crossover starring the publisher’s more mystical characters (Shadowman, Eternal Warrior, Punk Mambo, Doctor Mirage and Persephone). Then in March 2023, Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad, and Liam Sharp bring us the further adventures of the time displaced Aric and his sentient armor in “X-O Manowar Unconquered.” These titles were originally announced back in February, though the release dates have been pushed back since.

– While Valiant has confirmed plans for future titles, writer Steve Foxe revealed via his newsletter that “Archer & Armstrong Forever” #4 would be the last issue of the series. “Obviously, this was not the original plan — the print issue, at least, still ends with the cover for #5, and we were originally solicited through #6, too,” Foxe said of the abrupt cancellation. “The whole creative team was comfortably ahead of schedule, but plans changed late into the game and we’ll now be stopping at #4.” He thanked the creators who have worked on the series, adding “There are no hard feelings between the creative team and Valiant, and I’d work with them again in a heartbeat.”

The Hollywood Reporter states Warner Bros. Discovery is no longer ruling out outright canceling The Flash movie after Ezra Miller’s latest arrest. However, it is still being considered the last resort, with the studio hopeful that the actor, who has recently reunited with their mother, will be persuaded into seeking professional help, and explain their behavior in an interview ahead of the film’s June 23, 2023 release. If they don’t, then Warner Bros. will still release the film, albeit without Miller playing a “prominent role in terms of marketing and publicity,” and the role being recast in future projects. Either way, Miller’s role promoting the film will be extremely limited.

– Finally, fans of Amazon Prime’s The Boys can watch a full scene from the fictional 1983 blockbuster Red Thunder, starring Jensen Ackles’s Soldier Boy. The clip opens with a disclaimer from Vought International reminding us the scene was filmed before his “radicalization” in Russia, and the murder of Queen Maeve. Fans can view the scene on Vought’s Twitter and YouTube.
