In case you missed it, DC has announced a “Speed Force” series, and we have an exclusive preview of ”Marvel Unleashed” #1.

– Marvel has announced “Star Wars: Visions,” in the spirit of the Disney+ animated series, with Peach Momoko headlining the first installment. “Star Wars: Visions – Peach Momoko” #1 will be the first of a series of one-shots that, according to Marvel, will “give artists from around the world the chance to infuse Star Wars with their unique cultures and backgrounds.” Momoko’s story follows Sith cultist Ankok, who comes to believe she is the true successor to the Dark Side. “Star Wars: Visions – Peach Momoko” #1 is due out on November 15.
– Scholastic revealed the cover for “Whatever After: Fairest of them All,” a graphic novel based on the young reader novel series from Sarah Mlynowski. Anu Chouhan illustrates the book, with Mlynowski scripting. The story follows siblings Abby and Jonah as they are magically transported into the world of Snow White. After stopping her from eating the poison apple, they have to fix the fairy tale they fractured, and avoid the evil witch in the process. The book is due out April 2, 2024.
– Darkling, Archie Comics’s shadowy hero from the ’80s, is returning with a brand new design. “Darking” #1 will be written by Sarah Kuhn, with art from Carolina Borelli. Originally part of the Red Circle universe, Darla Lang has been seen in recent Archie titles as the resident “Goth Queen.” The new one-shot sees her use her mystical cloak to battle supernatural threats at Ivy Hollow University. It’s due out on November 22.
– BOOM! Studios revealed a multigenerational, galaxy-spanning epic, called “The Space Between.” Hugo and Eisner-nominee Corinna Bechko pens the tale of the interstellar colony ark the Dodona, and its rigid caste system, with Danny Luckert providing art. The first issue follows a pilot who falls from the upper tiers, only to fall in love with one of the residents of the lower decks. Every subsequent issue will see a different pair of protagonists battling against the ills of the current generation. The first issue drops on November 1, 2023, with David Mack and Ariel Olivetti providing variant covers.
– Image has unveiled “Crave,” a project described by the publisher as “Black Mirror meets Eyes Wide Shut.” Maria Llovet writes and draws the series, which focuses on a college student pulled into a destructive spiral by a mysterious hookup app. Issue #1 is due out November 24.
– Developer Flu Games and publisher GameMill Entertainment have announced The Walking Dead: Destinies. Set during the first four seasons of the AMC series, players will start as Rick Grimes, later joined by series mainstays Darly, Shane, Michonne, and others. But while players can take control of characters from the show and explore locations such as Woodbury or the prison, the game will reportedly allow agency to shape events differently than they occurred on the series. It’s set to be released on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. No release date has been officially announced, but a previous leak suggests a November 14 release. You can watch the official trailer here.
– Anamanaguchi will perform music from Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (the upcoming Netflix anime) live onstage in LA. The show will be one night only, November 17 (the day the series premieres) at The Wiltern. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
– Finally, Comic-Con International executive director and San Diego Comic-Con architect Fae Desmond is stepping down after 53 years (47 as an employee, six as a volunteer). Desmond was the first employee of the non-profit that organizes SDCC, rising through the ranks before taking the top job. Desmond has said she hopes to continue contributing to Comic-Con and Comic-Con Museum.
