In case you missed it, Vault’s “Fox and Hare” seeks to reclaim the cyberpunk genre for Asian audiences; Dark Horse announced “Hellboy Bones of Giants,” adapting Christopher Golden’s prose nove; and Marvel’s “Star Wars: Crimson Reign” will put Solo’s Qi’ra in the spotlight.

– Marvel has given us a glimpse of the ‘Beyond’ era of “Amazing Spider-Man.” When Ben Reilly takes the mantle this November, writers Kelly Thompson and Cody Ziglar (with help from the “Beyond Board” of Saladin Ahmed, Patrick Gleason, and Zeb Wells), as well as artists Sara Pichelli and Michael Dowling, will pit him against classic Spider-Man villains Morbius and Kraven the Hunter. The ‘Beyond’ era kicks off in October with “Amazing Spider-Man” #75, with issue #78 dropping on November 3, and issue #78.BEY hitting shelves the following week.

– In other Spider-news, Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends has been renewed for a second season. The animated series aimed at preschool audiences became the top series on the Disney Channel’s Disney Jr. block, as well as Disney NOW. Over the Disney Jr. and Marvel HQ YouTube channels, footage from the series has gained 84 million views and over 2.3 million watch time hours. The first season is currently airing Fridays at 9 a.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel and 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Junior. It will debut on Disney+ starting September 22.

– Actor Ethan Hawke appeared on CBS This Morning to discuss, among other topics, his upcoming graphic novel “Meadowlark: A Coming of Age Crime Story,” which he wrote alongside artist Greg Ruth. Hawke described the coming of age crime OGN, available now from Grand Central Publishing, as a “myth” set in Texas. Hawke was also asked about his role in Disney+’s upcoming Moon Knight, though he gave little information outside of laughing about the NDAs he had to sign.

– Lupin III is returning to manga with a new series, “Lupin III: Neighbor World Princess.” The new series will premiere in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Young Champion on August 26, in this year’s 39th issue. It will be written by Yōsuke Saeki with art from Keyaki Uchi-Uchi. The announcement, featured in the ninth issue of Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Retsu, also implied a story involving isekai summoning. The new manga comes just ahead of Seven Seas Entertainment releasing “Lupin III (Lupin the 3rd): Greatest Heists – The Classic Manga Collection” in English this November, and TMS Entertainment’s Lupin the Third: Part VI anime season (mean to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the original anime).

– Picturestart is adapting “Squad,” the YA horror graphic novel written by Maggie Tokuda-Hall with art from Lisa Sterle, into a television series with the help of Lionsgate TV. The rights to the LGBTQ+ themed horror comic, itself due out this fall, were reportedly acquired by Picturestart in an “eight-way bidding war.” Both of the OGN creators are credited as executive producers for the project.

– The “Alice in Leatherland” creative team of writer Iolanda Zanfardino and artist Elisa Romboli are reteaming again for the high-octane five issue miniseries “A Thing Called Truth.” The story follows “a workaholic scientist who wants to save the world and a woman who fears nothing but discovering her own destiny,” as they roadtrip through Europe. Issue #1 will be available in shops on November 3, with two variant covers from Mirka Andolfo.

– Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige commented on Disney CEO Bob Chapek’s controversial remarks, in which he called the upcoming theater exclusive release of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings an “experiment.” Shang-Chi star Simu Liu had previous responded to the comments, stating the film’s primarily Asian cast were “not an experiment.” Feige stated the conflict was a “misunderstanding” between Liu and Chapek, claiming that the Disney CEO’s comments were not malicious, before citing the film itself as proof. Shang-Chi will be exclusive to theaters for 45 days after it releases on September 3, before debuting digitally.

– Finally, Marvel have released the second and final trailer for the Eternals movie, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao. The trailer unveils the Deviants, as well as the repercussions of the Blip in Avengers: Endgame, and answers why the title characters did not interfere in the previous events of the MCU. Eternals releases in theaters on November 5. You can also check out the new poster here.
