Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– News coming from Wired reveals that RiRi Williams, star of the new volume of “Invincible Iron Man” by Brian Michael Bendis and Stefano Caselli, won’t actually be going by the name of Iron Man, but will be known by the moniker of Ironheart. This makes sense, more or less, but I have to wonder why the series is still titled Iron Man, then. Is the marketing brand really that strong?
– Following on from the adaptation of “How To Talk To Girls At Parties” by Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba, another of Neil Gaiman’s short stories is being adapted into a hardcover graphic novel at Dark Horse. The next story will be “Troll Bridge” and will be adapted by Colleen Doran and you can check out an interview with Colleen over at CBR.
– “Grand Passion”, the long gestating series by James Robinson and Tom Feister, has finally gotten a release date. Even though it was announced at SDCC 2013, we’ve seen neither hide nor hair of it until now. The series will debut in November of this year, published by Dynamite Entertainment.
– Photos from the set of Thor: Ragnarok have revealed a very interesting and unexpected setting for the film and hints that the God of Thunder will be taking a trip to the crib of the Sorcerer Supreme. This is, like, the least surprising thing to be revealed about this film.
– Also in Marvel Studios news, James Gunn has revealed new concept art for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, showcasing the updated looks for the crew of the Milano.
– Finally, check out these posters mashing up the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story with Stanley Kubrick’s epic Full Metal Jacket. I’m going to need, like, five of these each.
