In case you missed it, Marvel announced a “Wasp” miniseries to celebrate the character’s 60th anniversary.

– Webtoon are set to release a Dungeons & Dragon series in 2023, it was reported. Whilst the series has yet to be named, writer Purpah and artist Ryan LeCount will be creating the comic, where they will tell the story of dark elf Brie as she takes up her father Drizzt Do’Urden’s sword, Twinkle, and sets out on her own adventure. R.A. Salvatore, the writer who created Drizzt for his novel The Crystal Shard, has been “working closely” on the project. As the series is set to debut next year, its release will coincide with the 35th anniversary of The Crystal Shard‘s release.

– Image Comics announced a “dark fantasy” one-shot called “The Knight and the Lady of Play,” by writer/artist Jonathan Luna. The issue will follow a knight named Signore Vincenzo, who is traveling home to his wife following a demonic war, only to encounter a “mysteriously hypnotic woman” called Motta in a swamp. In what will be his first non-digitally drawn comic since “The Sword,” Luna detailed that the one-shot will be illustrated using “just graphite — not ink.” “The Knight and the Lady of Play” #1 is scheduled for release on November 2.

– As part of the upcoming “Brigade Remastered Edition” #1, Rob Liefeld will provide a five-page story called ‘Heirborne.’ The story is set to give audiences a first look at what is currently dubbed the Liefeldverse, which imagines a world where those with superpowers have become the authority figures. As a result of their rule, only a select few of the population are allowed to live comfortably, with the rest of the world rationing supplies on a day-to-day basis, while a resistance grows against the superpowered. “Brigade Remastered Edition” #1 is set to be released in comic shops and on digital platforms on September 28. You can check out two preview pages here.

– Marvel peeled back the curtain on their upcoming “Marvel’s Voices: Comunidades” #1, revealing details about the five stories in the one-shot, including that a new Latinx character called Chimera will be debuted. Created by writer Alex Segura and artist Rogê Antônio, Chimera is set to feature in the pair’s White Tiger story, though the publisher has not revealed if Chimera is a friend or foe. “Marvel’s Voices: Comunidades” #1 has a release date of September 28. You can check out Chimera in their red, white, and blue suit on Paco Medina’s design variant cover and a preview page, in addition to a host of cover and preview pages and the rest of the story line-up here.

Deadline reported that WandaVision director Matt Shakman is in early discussions to take the directorial reigns of the upcoming Fantastic Four, following the departure of the previously attached Jon Watts. Shakman is the only name publicly known to be involved in Marvel Studios’s search for a director for the film, whilst producer Kevin Feige is the only individual confirmed to be involved with the film. After this report came word that Shakman has dropped out of the director role for Star Trek 4, which would reportedly have a conflicting schedule with Fantastic Four. At the time of writing, Star Trek 4 is still scheduled for release on December 22, 2023, although a replacement director has yet to be named, and delays may occur should the search be prolonged. Fantastic Four is set to premiere November 8, 2024.

THR revealed that Ezra Miller and their agent, Scott Metzger, met with Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, the newly instated Warner Bros. film chairs, on Wednesday. The meeting was set to discuss the future of The Flash following the run of allegations against — and arrests of — Miller; it was also a chance for Miller to apologize for the negative publicity the allegations have brought to the film and Warner Bros. in its entirety. Miller’s move into action was reportedly prompted by the potential for the film to be cancelled; a source stated, “They care about The Flash. It’s one of their favorite characters to play.” The Flash, as it stands, it set to be released on June 23, 2023.

– Finally, the GoFundMe page set up to support writer Rachel Pollack’s healthcare costs has met its goal. Pollack recently began chemotherapy and is currently in the ICU. The GoFundMe page is still active and continues to raise money, with Patricia Nolan, the organizer of the fund, stating that “If [Pollack] is able to go home, she will need 24-hour care.” Pollack is best known for her work on titles at DC Comics including “New Gods” and “Doom Patrol.” Her first series since 1998, “The Never Ending Party,” launched last month on comiXology.
