Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the weekend. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– You know Death Note, that manga the really uncomfortable kid from your middle school loved? Netflix is producing an adaptation of it starring Willem Dafoe as Ryuk the Shinigami. That’s pretty perfect casting until you realize that the Japanese protagonist Light is being played by the white dude from that John Green movie which isn’t the John Green movie you’re thinking about.
– Remember how Michael Rooker was in Guardians of the Galaxy? Yeah, I kind of didn’t either. Anyway, Marvel has a first look at what his new hairdo is like for Guardians 2. Has Michael Rooker been playing the Shi’ar Gladiator this whole time?
– There’s a new synopsis for the next season of Agents of SHIELD and the good news is that it has Robbie Reyes, the most recent Ghost Rider, in it. The bad news is that I’m going to have to wait a few more months to see my favorite new Marvel character in something I’m going to actually watch or read.
– David Ayer responded to early negative reviews of Suicide Squad with this extra as hell tweet. Translated, Ayer tweeted “I’d prefer to die standing, than to live on my knees.” I’d prefer to die during the trailers so I don’t have to review this film for Multiversity on Saturday.
– Telltale Games decided to make their new Batman series as similar to the Arkham franchise as possible by releasing a broken PC version.
