In case you missed it, Marvel has revealed the cover for ”Venom” #14, and AfterShock has announced “Maniac of New York: Don’t Call It a Comeback.” We also have an exclusive preview of next week’s “Ms. Marvel & Venom” #1.

– DC is teasing a “new era of Superman” with “Action Comics” #1050. Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Mike Perkins, Tom Taylor, Clayton Henry, Joshua Williamson, and Nick Dragotta are all set to work on the milestone issue, with Jim Lee, Alex Ross, Lee Weeks, and Michael Allred providing a few of the twenty-five variant covers. The plot will see Lex Luthor steal something from Clark’s life that “will change the very planet itself.” The 48-page comic will retail for $5.99, and go on sale December 27.

– Hip hop superstars Ice-T and NWA’s Arabian Prince have announced the multi-media project Death For Hire: The Origin of Tehk City. The project will include both an animated series and an original graphic novel from Z2. The OGN is set to release first, introducing readers to the world of Tehk City, corrupt mayor Chuck Davis, and the black market-controlling Round Table Gang. Ice-T will voice Davis in the animated series, with his wife CoCo voicing Davis’s personal assassin Rhonda Knuckles. The cast will also include Arabian Prince, Snoop Dogg, Mike Epps, and Tommy The Animator. Dr. Dre will provide the score, with many of the hip hop icons in the cast providing their own themes. Gary Phillips (FX’s Snowfall) will script the OGN with art from Montos (Z2’s “Blondie: Against The Odds”). The book is available to preorder now for a May 30, 2023 release.

– Dark Horse Comics have acquired the license for The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The 1975 horror comedy musical film, based on the stage show of the same name, starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick, and followed a young couple who become guests of the mad scientist Dr. Frank N. Furter. A cult classic, Caliber Comics previously published a three-part comic adaptation in 1990. The new incarnation should mark the 50th anniversary of the stage version, which premiered in 1973.

– Image Comics Massive-Verse breakout Radiant Pink is getting her own series this December, written by YouTuber Strawburry17 (a.k.a. Meghan Camarena) with Melissa Flores, and Emma Kubert on art. Radiant Pink first debuted in “Radiant Black” #12, which Camarena co-wrote with Kyle Higgins. The series finds the superhero and social media influencer on the run from mercenaries searching for the source of her power. “Radiant Pink” #1 is set to hit shelves on December 7, with variant covers from Tom Whalen and Kelly McMahon.

– Deadline reports that Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) has landed the lead male role in The Acolyte, the latest Disney+ Star Wars series. While Lucasfilm hasn’t gone into specifics about Lee’s role, we do know The Acolyte is a “mystery-thriller” set in the waning days of the High Republic, and that the term “acolyte” refers to a Force user who studies under a Sith Lord. This will be Lee’s first major American studio role.

– Warner Bros. released a second trailer for Black Adam, giving us our first glimpse of the Justice Society’s X-Men-style mansion, the demon Sabbac, and the return of Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. Black Adam releases in theaters October 21.

– HBO Max has released the trailer for season three of Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler. The new season will be available exclusively on the streamer starting on October 6. The series stars Imitation Game actor Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, secret agent and future butler of the Wayne family.

– Finally, in honor of Star Trek Day, Paramount+ made several announcements during a livestreamed celebration. The third and final season of Picard will premiere on the streamer February 16, with each of the ten episodes dropping weekly. A new trailer gives us glimpses of the USS Titan, and the returning Next Generation cast. Star Trek: Prodigy will also be returning for the second half of its first season on October 27. Billy Campbell joins the cast, reprising his Next Generation role as Thadiun Okona. An exclusive clip shows the real Vice Admiral Janeway will play a large role in the remainder of the season.

We also learned that Carol Kane will be joining the cast of Strange New Worlds for the show’s second season, replacing Aenar engineer Hemmer, and an exclusive clip promises that Melissa Navia’s Erica Ortega will have a larger role in the new episodes. Lastly, The Wrath of Khan writer/director Nicholas Meyer will produce Star Trek: Khan — Ceti Alpha V, the first Star Trek scripted podcast, set to fill in the gap between the original series episode “Space Seed” and the second Trek film.
