In case you missed it, after accusations of discrimination and bias, comic book advocacy group The Valkyries have announced their disbandment. Marvel also announced a new “Superior Spider-Man” series, written by Christos Gage with art by Mike Hawthorne, to be released in December.

– To celebrate the 20th anniversary of James Kochalka’s “Monkey Vs. Robot,” IDW’s Top Shelf Productions imprint will release a new full color edition of the book, ICv2 reports. “Monkey Vs. Robot” was originally published by Top Shelf Productions in 2000. The book follows a group of self-replicating robots who are stripping the nearby jungle of natural resources and run into trouble from a colony of monkeys that live there. Kochalka, an Eisner and Harvey Award winner, tweeted a colored page from the new edition of the book. “Monkey Vs. Robot” will be re-released in 2020.

– Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Daredevil season 3 in the form of a post-credits scene for Iron Fist season 2, reports Comicbook.com. The 30-second teaser finds a bloodied Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) on screen for the first time since the end of The Defenders, wearing his original black outfit in a confessional booth, claiming he’d rather “die as the Devil than live as Matt Murdock.” Daredevil season 3 has no official release date as of yet, though it will reportedly be released before the end of the year.

– Marvel have revealed “Infinity Wars: Fallen Guardian” #1 with an ominous teaser image on Friday. The image shows the Guardians of the Galaxy readied for battle with the tagline “One Will Fall.” “Infinity Wars: Fallen Guardian” #1 will be helmed by writer Gerry Duggan, artist Andy MacDonald, with cover artist R.B. Silva and will be released in December.

– Artist Dave Gibbons and cartoonist Roz Chast will be inducted into the Harvey Hall of Fame at the Harvey Awards this October. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gibbons discussed his induction, the importance of Harvey Kurtzman’s influence, and the legacy of “Watchmen.” Of his induction, Gibbons stated “Eventually I was lucky enough to meet Harvey, and even did a story with him. To end up receiving an award with his name on it in New York is just brilliant.” The interview also delves into what Gibbons knows about Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen. Check it out here.

– DC Universe has updated its releases to include 2018’s The Death of Superman, 1996’s Superman: The Animated Series, and 1981’s Superman II. – And speaking of DC Universe, Deadline reports Maria Sten (Channel Zero, Straight Outta Compton) will join Crystal Reed (Gotham) in the streaming service’s Swamp Thing. Sten will play Liz Tremayne, a close childhood friend of Reed’s Abby Arcane, who splits her time between reporting for the local paper and bartending at her aging father’s roadhouse bar. Swamp Thing, which is based on the characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, is written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman, and will be directed by Len Wiseman.

– Berlin-based sales company Picture Tree Intl. has acquired sales rights to Carolina Hellsgård’s post-apocalyptic horror movie Ever After (Endzeit). The film is set two years after zombies have overrun Earth, and follows two young women stranded between the German towns of Weimar and Jena, which are possibly the last strongholds of human civilization. It is based on a graphic novel by Olivia Vieweg, who also wrote the screenplay. You can see the trailer for Ever After over at Variety.

– Finally, in our Weekly Reader Poll we asked about your favorite “Aquaman” run. Well the results are in and it looks like Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis’s ‘The Trench’ is this week’s big winner with 43 percent of the vote, followed by Peter David’s run with 19 percent of the vote. Rounding things off in third place with 18% of the vote is Dan Abnett and co.’s current run on the book with 18 percent. As always, tune in every Friday for a new reader poll.
