In case you missed it, DC announced “Represent!,” the return of “Batman: Black and White,” and “Generations: Shattered.” We also spoke to Joshua Williamson on the Multiversity Coffee Break, where he talked about his work on “The Flash” comics, some of his favourite ’90s DC Comics, and more.

'Resonant' #6

– Post-apocalyptic horror series “Resonant” is making its return to Vault Comics this December. The series, which first debuted in January 2019, begins a new arc with issue #6. Writer David Andry, colorist Jason Wordie, and letterer Deron Bennett all make their return, while Alejandro Aragon will hand over art duties to Skylar Patridge. The synopsis says, “Paxton, Claire, and Miki enact their plan to escape Honcho’s island, but they won’t get away without a fight! The arrival of Preacher, Maw, and their followers interrupts Ty’s new life with the Congregation, while Bec struggles to protect the family homestead from other hungry visitors.”

– Marvel will double-up on the horror this December with the “Immortal Hulk” taking on a planet full of symbiotes and Knull, the King in Black. The one-shot tie-in to the sprawling ‘King in Black’ crossover event, “King in Black: Immortal Hulk” #1, from writer Al Ewing and guest artist Aaron Kuder, will see the Jade Giant and Joe Fixit squaring off against Knull. “A present for the Hulk! The Hulk is in a bad place. Half of his alters are dead or missing — including Bruce Banner — and the Leader’s got the rest of him on the ropes. But never let it be said that Joe Fixit doesn’t know how to have a good time — and he’s out to make sure this is the best holiday the Hulk’s ever had. He just has to fight his way through a planet of symbiotes first.”

– In other ‘King in Black’ news, the “Black Cat” series is returning with a new #1 issue in December. According to series writer Jed Mackay, Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, will pilfer something important to the god of the symbiotes, after Knull’s arrival on Earth chucks a big wrench in a major heist. That’s not all, as several major characters will feature in the issue. “Feeling lucky? Knull’s attack on Earth interrupts the Black Cat’s latest heist, and if you know Felicia, you know that’s a problem. So the Cat and her crew aim to steal something of greatest value to both Knull and Earth’s hope of survival. You’ll have to pick up this issue to find out what! This issue guest-stars the X-Men! Captain America! And Doctor Strange! DO NOT MISS IT!!!”

– AMC announced The Walking Dead series will end in 2022 with the 11th season, but fans of the apocalyptic walker franchise won’t have to say goodbye to fan favourites Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier just yet. AMC has already greenlit yet another spinoff, this time starring franchise mainstays Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride. The currently untitled show will be created by current Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang, as well as Deadverse chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, and is slated to hit screens sometime in 2023.

– Microsoft’s Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles will be released on November 10, 2020. Fans will have two options: pay one upfront cost – $299 for the all-digital Xbox Series S, $499 for the 4K-enabled, optical drive packing Xbox Series X – with a little extra per month for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate/EA Play bundle. Alternatively, with the Xbox All Access, gamers in 12 countries can pay a low monthly fee for the console of their choice plus cloud access to a library of hundreds of games. Xbox All Access provides either the Xbox Series S for $24.99 a month, or the Xbox Series X, for $34.99 monthly (including the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate/EA Play bundle) for 24 months.

– The Daleks, perhaps Doctor Who’s most iconic villains, will steal the spotlight this November. Coming to the Doctor Who YouTube channel will be the CGI animated five-part series – Daleks!, which will be the finale for the ‘Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious‘ multimedia crossover. According to the official synopsis, “The Dalek Empire comes up against a terrible force. The Daleks’ plundering of the Archive of Islos unearths something ancient and deadly. Soon Skaro is under attack and the Dalek Emperor is on the run! Can the Daleks defeat their adversaries and regain their planet, even with help from an old enemy? Will this be the end of the Daleks?” Written by James Goss, created by animation company Studio Liddell, and produced by the BBC, Daleks! features the voices of Nicholas Briggs (the voice of the Daleks in Doctor Who), Joe Sugg (Waitress), Anjli Mohindra (The Bodyguard, The Sarah Jane Adventures), and Ayesha Antoine (Holby City).

– Finally, Suicide Squad directer David Ayer continued to stoke the flames behind a campaign for a director’s cut on Twitter recently. Answering a question from a fan about El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), who explosively kicked the bucket in the critically panned theatrical release, Ayer stated that in his version, the character survived. However according to Ayer, “The argument was because he killed his family he had to die. It was either that or the backstory of his family would have been cut. Sometimes it’s just triage to protect against a worse outcome.”
