– Comic writer and journalist Zachary Clemente (formerly of this site) has announced that he is running a new comics micro-press called Bulgilhan Press. They are looking to publish short, self-contained stories from solo creators and are currently accepting submissions. They are expecting to publish their first comics by mid-2019.

– In anticipation for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix has released a new trailer featuring Big Hero 6 world. The 2014 Big Hero 6 movie, produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, was loosely based on a Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released January 29, 2019.

– Graphic novel publisher First Second continued their series of Spring 2019 cover reveals with a book called “The Singing Rock & Other Brand-New Fairytales.” The book will be written by author/playwright Nathaniel Lachenmeyer and illustrated by Simini Blocker. See other cover reveals at their Twitter account.

– The HuffPost reports Australian cartoonist Mark Knight has come under fire on social media because of his cartoon of Serena Williams. Critics slammed it as portraying Williams in a racist and sexist light, as well as perpetuating the “angry black woman” stereotype. (It also depicts her opponent Naomi Osaka as a white, blonde woman.) Knight defended the cartoon on his personal Twitter account, but did not respond to HuffPost’s request for further comment.

– Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. The show, developed by cartoonist Noelle Stevenson, will act as a reboot of the classic 1980s cartoon and is set to released November 16, 2018.

Variety has released a preview gallery for shows returning Fall 2018. Among those previewed are The CW’s The Flash and Supergirl. It reveals that on this season, Tom Cavanagh will play “Harrison Sherloque Wells. He’s French, and like his name suggests, he’s a master detective who’s come to help them track down this season’s big bad.” You can view the whole gallery here.
