– The long-delayed “Batman/Catwoman” limited series from Tom King, Clay Mann and Tomeu Morey is finally seeing print in December. Via GamesRadar, the book is a continuation of King’s 2016-2019 run on the ongoing “Batman” series. Initially planned to be the final issues of King’s promised 106-issue run, the finale was reworked into the twelve-issue miniseries after King’s run was cut short at issue #85.

The book was then delayed from its January 2020 release date, remaining absent from DC’s solicitations until their upcoming December 2020 solicits. The series will dive into Batman and Catwoman’s long shared history, and will also feature the comic book debut of Andrea Beaumont, Batman’s former fling from the animated classic Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. “Batman/Catwoman” #1 is due out on December 1, 2020.

– Iron Man and Doctor Doom are joining forces against their common enemy [checks notes] uh, Santa Claus. Via CBR, the two frenemies will set aside their differences in the one-shot “King in Black: Iron Man/Doctor Doom” #1 from Christopher Cantwell and Salvador Larroca. Cantwell currently pens the ongoing “Doctor Doom” series, and is set to debut a new “Iron Man” ongoing next week. The one-shot, part of Marvel’s upcoming ‘King in Black’ event, will see Tony Stark and Victor von Doom setting aside their differences to face, in Cantwell’s words, “one of the worst grotesqueries of Knull’s infected Earth… Santa Claus.” “King in Black: Iron Man/Doctor Doom” #1 hits shelves in December.

– The latest in Captain Underpants author Dave Pilkey’s best-selling “Dog Man” series is now the best-selling book in North America. From GamesRadar, the OGN “Dog Man: Grime and Punishment” has outsold several high profile new releases to take the top spot, including Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady, and Louise Penny’s All the Devils Are Here. The “Dog Man” series follows the canine superhero Dog Man and his friends Li’l Petey and 80-HD, and explores positive messages of empathy and kindness, while also confronting complex themes including loss, forgiveness, and self-acceptance. The extremely popular series has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide since its debut in 2016.

– Comic writer Ed Brisson announced on Twitter that he will be participating in the cycling fundraiser Ride for Cancer on October 3. As part of the fundraiser, the “New Mutants” and “Ghost Rider” scribe will be sending signed copies of his books to those who donate over $50 to the cause. You can find his donation page here.

– Netflix and DreamWorks Animation’s webcomic adaptation Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts will return for a third and final season. Via ComicBook.com, the animated series first premiered less than a year ago in January 2020, but thanks to the streaming service’s accelerated release schedules, the show’s final 10 episodes are set to premiere in October. The show follows a young girl named Kipo Oak, who emerges from her burrow to search for her father in a post-apocalyptic world. Per Netflix and DreamWorks, season 3 will see Kip and the Brunch Bunch facing Dr. Emilia, who is plotting to eliminate mutekind from the surface to make it “safe” for humans. The final season of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts debuts on Netflix on October 12, and be sure to check out Multiversity’s recaps of the past two seasons ahead of the premiere.

Deadline reports that actress Shivaani Ghai is joining the cast of Batwoman. Ghai will join the new lead Javicia Leslie, who will play the new Batwoman Ryan Wilder following Ruby Rose’s resignation earlier this year, for the show’s retooled second season. Ghai will reportedly portray Safiyah, a criminal from the island of Coryana who was mentioned several times throughout Batwoman season 1 as a force to be reckoned with. Safiyah is a relatively new DC character, first appearing as an antagonist for Kate Kane in Marguerite Bennett, James Tynion IV and Steve Epting’s “Batwoman: Rebirth” #1 in 2017. Following the COVID-19 production stoppage, Batwoman’s second season was postponed, and is currently scheduled to premiere in January 2021.

– Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is making a return. Via ComicBook.com, the game’s developer Ubisoft shared a trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition during the Ubisoft Forward event. The updated release will see the comic book adaptation, which was originally released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2010, become available for the current generation of consoles. The remastered version will include both DLCs from the original game, and is set for release sometime during the 2020 holiday season on PlayStation 4, the Xbox One family of devices, the Nintendo Switch, Stadia, Windows PC and UPLAY+.

– Finally, from the BBC, Dame Diana Rigg has died of cancer at the age of 82. Born in Doncaster in 1938, Rigg began her career as a theater actress after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1957. She catapulted to fame less than a decade later when she took the iconic role as fashion icon and sex symbol Emma Peel in The Avengers, appearing in 51 episodes of the series. Her appearance in the episode “A Touch of Brimstone” inspired John Byrne’s designs for the female Hellfire Club members during his “Uncanny X-Men” run.

Rigg’s storied career included appearances as Tracy Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, as Lady Holliday in The Great Muppet Caper, and an Emmy-winning role as Mrs. Danvers in a Masterpiece production of Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca. The legendary run culminated in a heavyweight, scene stealing performance as Lady Olenna Tyrell in HBO’s Game of Thrones. She is survived by her daughter, actress Rachael Stirling, and her grandson Jack.
