– DC’s one-shot “Dark Crisis: Big Bang” will offer a look at the recently reborn Multiverse that returned in the recent “Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths” #4. Via CBR, Mark Waid, Dan Jurgens and more will tour through the infinite landscape for an issue that will “incorporate characters and elements from DC’s other titles, both old and new.” The solicit for the book teases appearances from four of DC’s most recent alternate universe titles: “Jurassic League,” “DC: Mech,” “Dark Knights of Steel,” and “Batman ’89.” The main cover for issue #1 comes from Mikel Janín, with variants by Janín, Ariel Colón, Nathan Szerdy, Freddie E. Williams II, and Crystal Kung. “Dark Crisis: Big Bang” #1 explodes onto shelves December 13.

– ComiXology has launched the new horror-comedy comic “Census.” Via AIPT, the series comes from co-writers Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman and artist Sebastián Piriz, with lettering from Bernardo Brice and editing by Sarah Litt. The book follows Liam, a young man who takes a job as a census taker keeping track of all the otherworldly beings in New York City, a job that “might just cost him his life.” “Census” #1 is available now on comiXology Unlimited.

– Vault Comics has delayed their upcoming comic “The Nasty” until next year. Via Popverse, the series from writer John Lees and artist George Kambadais was set to debut this month, but marketing and production issues have led to the book being pushed back; Lees shared the news in a public update on his Patreon. A coming-of-age horror comic set in Scotland during the U.K.’s moral panic surrounding “video nasties,” “The Nasty” follows a group of horror-loving friends who set out to create their own slasher film, only to find their film becoming more real. “The Nasty” #1 will now be released in March 2023.

– A new story arc is coming for the BOOM! Studios series “Grim.” Writer Stephanie Phillips, artist Flaviano, colorist Rico Renzi, and letterer Tom Napolitano are all continuing on for the ongoing series following grim reaper Jessica Harrow, and her fellow Reapers. The new arc ‘Devils & Dust’ finds Jessica, Eddie, and Marcel trapped in Las Vegas, and encountering legendary figures from Greek mythology. The story kicks off with “Grim” #6, with main cover art by Flaviano and variants from Justine Florentino, Toni Infante, and more. “Grim” #6 cuts its way to comic shops in December.

– The Dark Horse series “Resident Alien” is back for a new volume. Creators Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse are back for the newest installment in the series, “Resident Alien: The Book of Love.” The new miniseries picks up the tale of alien detective Harry at a moment of relative peace following the previous volume, as he embarks on his new relationship with Asta and starts to let his guard down. This is the seventh volume in the “Resident Alien” saga, which was adapted into a TV series for Syfy in 2021; Syfy has renewed the show for a third season. “Resident Alien: The Book of Love” lifts off on November 16.

– Top Cow will publish the anthology comic “Soldier Stories,” featuring tales written by military veterans based on their true-life experiences. Via CBR, the veterans have each been paired up with established comics creators to help bring their tale to the page. The list of creators includes veterans Brian Anthony, Jalysa Conway, and Megan Ferrell Burke, as well as John Bivens, Annapaola Martello, K. Michael Russell, Arturo Lauria, and Kelly Fitzpatrick. Cecilia Lo Valvo & Ryan Cody also adapted the recollections of the late Rev. William J. Bellamy for a story based on his experiences obtaining a press photo of Nelson Mandela in 1990. “Soldier Stories” hits shelves on November 9, with covers by Billy Tucci and Marc Silvestri.

– Marvel Entertainment and SiriusXM have premiered the latest of their scripted podcast collaborations set in a version of the ‘Old Man Logan’ universe. Marvel’s Wastelanders: Doom is the fifth podcast series in the franchise, which began with Marvel’s Wastelanders: Star Lord and continued most recently with Marvel’s Wastelanders: Wolverine. The new series follows Doctor Doom (Dylan Baker) as he teams up with Valeria Richards (Rebecca Naomi Jones) to seek revenge against the villains who betrayed him thirty years earlier on the Day the Villains Won. Also starring Danny Burstein, Keith David, John Hawkes, Kristen Johnston, Elijah Jones, Hamish Linklater, Nadine Malouf, and Luke Kirby, the series was co-written by Mark Waid and James Kim and directed by Jade King Carroll. Chapter one of Marvel’s Wastelanders: Doom, “A Super Hero Walks into a Bar,” is available now.

– Crunchyroll will release the English-subtitled and English-dubbed version of the movie One Piece Film Red, the latest entry in the long-running anime and manga franchise, in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in November. Via Anime News Network, the film focuses on Uta, the most popular singer in the world, who conceals her identity when performing – and also happens to be the daughter of the legendary pirate captain Shanks. The film’s English-language premiere will first come at Crunchyroll Expo Australia on September 16, followed by a North American premiere in New York alongside New York Comic Con on October 6. Tickets will also go on sale to the general public on October 6, ahead of the North American release on November 4.

– Speaking of “One Piece,” conceptual artist Ilan Manouach has combined every volume of Eiichiro Oda’s ongoing manga into one single book. Via The Beat, the 21,450 page single volume, dubbed ONEPIECE, sits at a whopping 31.5 inches wide and weighs 36 lbs, making it reportedly the world’s biggest book. As described in the project’s press release, “Ilan Manouach’s ONEPIECE proposes to shift the understanding of digital comics from a qualitative examination of the formal possibilities of digital comics to a quantitative reappraisal of ‘comics as Big Data.’” Manouach is probably best known as the creator of “Katz,” a pirated edition of Art Spiegelman’s acclaimed graphic novel “Maus” that featured all of the characters – rather than just the Germans – drawn as cats. ONEPIECE was produced by JBE Books with a limited run of fifty editions; each book is being sold for the low, low cost of €1,900 (roughly US$1925.)

– Finally, via Gayming Magazine, Netflix have announced the second season of Dead End: Paranormal Park will be released on Thursday, October 13. The magazine also shared a clip featuring wrestler Effy as the trainer demon Asmodeus. The first season of Dead End: Paranormal Park, an animated horror comedy adapted by showrunner Hamish Steele from his graphic novel series “DeadEndia,” premiered on June 16 to critical acclaim.
