Entertainment Weekly provided details for the upcoming comic book “Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child” by Frank Miller, Rafael Grampá, and Jordie Bellaire. The 48-page prestige format one-shot, which was previously announced last October, will be released on December 11th. “The Golden Child” is set after the events of “Dark Knight III: Master Race” and will center around Carrie Kelley and Lara Kent teaming up against a new threat with the help of a young Jonathan Kent. This project will be Grampá’s first comic book work in six years. We’ll have more on DC’s final December reveals in next week’s Soliciting Multiversity column.

Newsarama also has the details on Frank Miller’s premiere of a Batman Black & White statue based on his previous Batman work being unveiled at FAO Schwarz in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza. The statue is part of DC’s year long promotion of Batman’s 80th anniversary.

Screen International exclusively announced that Scott Snyder, Charles Soule, and Giuseppe Camuncoli have sold the film rights to their upcoming Image Series, “Undiscovered Country,” to New Republic Pictures. Studio head Brian Oliver stated that he plans to turn Undiscovered Country into a franchise. Snyder and Soule are tapped to co-write and executive produce the film. “Undiscovered Country” #1 will be available November 6th.

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively announced a television adaptation of the Mexican comic book “El Gato Negro” for Apple TV+. Robert Rodriguez will be directing and executive producing the show with lead actor Diego Boneta also executive producing. Created by Richard Dominguez, “El Gato Negro” tells the intergenerational story of two masked heroes in South Texas.

Newsarama reported Super Dinosaur will be premiering in the US following a deal with Amazon Prime Video. The Canadian television show is based off the Skybound comic by Robert Kirkman and Jason Howard. The 13-episode first season will debut on October 6th.

James Gunn posted a picture on Twitter featuring the names of the cast featured in his Suicide Squad film, revealing Alice Braga, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn have joined the film in unnamed roles. Margot Robbie and Viola Davis will reprise their roles as Harley Quinn and Amanda Waller and will be joined by Idris Elba, Taika Waititi, Mayling Ng, and many others. The Suicide Squad is set to premire August 6, 2021.

Deadline reported on director and comic book creator Dennis Liu’s latest creation, “Ling” which he produced a web short and graphic novel for that he hopes will match the success of his previous effort Raising Dion. “Ling” was created with Liu’s wife Marie Iida, and is centered on a Chinese American teen who is one day granted superpowers by a magical three-legged fox that turns Ling into whichever girl she wants to be. Temple Hill Entertainment is working with Liu and Iida to shop the character for a television adaptation.
