In case you missed it, DC will honor Stan Lee’s 100th birthday with “Tales from Earth-6,” and AfterShock announced ‘One-Shock’ horror comic “All Night & Every Day.” We also had an exclusive preview of next week’s “A.X.E.: Judgment Day” #5, and a look at December’s Mignola books.

– Cullen Bunn’s production company Hustle & Heart Films is collaborating with Source Point Press on three new comic projects dropping in 2023, the first of which being “Nightwalkers.” Inspired by Tara Devlin’s short story “The Night Walkers,” it follows an addict trapped in an abandoned rehab facility with a bloodthirsty monster. The book will feature art by Joe Bocardo, with colors from Colin Johnson, and letters provided by Justin Birch. It will be produced in collaboration with Aengus McLoone and Vertigo Entertainment. It is set to debut at the 2022 New York Comic Con (with a “House of Secrets” #92 tribute cover from Sajad Shah) before hitting shelves in January. The second project will be a sci-fi comic titled “Copycat,” co-written with Hustle & Heart co-founder Heath Amodio. The third is a fantasy series yet to be announced.

Gun Akimbo director Jason Lei Howden has announced “Deathgasm,” a comic series based on his 2015 movie of the same name. Pete Bune co-writes with Howden, with art courtesy of Industrias Lamonicana. The series is set after the events of the film, which saw the title metal band mistakenly summon a demon known as the Blind One. The series, according to the official synopsis, will see the band go “on tour to take out every damn demon they can.” The book will be published by Opus Comics, who are also releasing Howden’s “Monsters of Metal,” previously mentioned in our September 2 Rundown. “Deathgasm” #1 (of 4) is set to hit shelves in mid-December, with a cardstock cover from Russell Fox.

– The creators of The Last Kids on Earth are reuniting for a series of spin-off graphic novels. “The Last Comics on Earth” will see the title kids realize they’ve read every issue of “Z-Man: Defender of Apocalyptia,” and deciding to create their own. Max Brallier writes with Joshua Pruett, while art will be provided by Jay Cooper and Douglas Holgate. The first of the planned four volumes drops on Feb. 28, 2023.

The Good Place and Top Gun: Maverick star Manny Jacinto has been cast in The Acolyte, the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series. He joins a cast that includes Amandla Stenberg in the lead role, as well as Jodie Turner-Smith and the recently announced Lee Jung-jae.

– In more Star Wars news, Disney has removed Patty Jenkins’s upcoming Rogue Squadron movie from their release calendar. The spin-off, which would have been the first Star Wars theatrical release since 2019’s Rise of Skywalker, was scheduled for a December 23, 2023 opening. This was after another delay in 2021, relating to scheduling conflicts. Disney has also announced release dates for a Snow White remake (March 22, 2024), Inside Out 2 (June 14, 2024), and the live-action Lion King prequel Mufasa (July 5, 2024).

Arrow and Orville star Chad L. Coleman will appear in the CW’s Superman & Lois as Bruno Mannheim. The casting was announced on Sept. 3 of this year at DragonCon, with showrunner Todd Helbing suggesting that Intergang would appear in the latest season back in June. Actor Michael Bishop will also join the cast for the show’s third season, replacing Jordan Elsass as Jonathan Kent.

– Finally, interactive children’s comic strip “Slylock Fox” is getting an animated feature. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Divergent, and Snow White and the Huntsman writer Evan Daughtery will write and produce the upcoming film, with King Features President C.J. Kettler executive producing, and design/animation studio Chromosphere handling art direction. “Slylock Fox,” which follows the title Sherlock Holmesian detective and his partner Max Mouse, was created by Bob Weber Jr., and has been published by King Features since 1987.
