— Dark Horse will debut “Alien vs. Predator: Thicker Than Blood,” written by Jeremy Barlow, illustrated by Doug Wheatley, and lettered by Michael Heisler, with cover art by Chun Lo. In it, a Predator wreaks terror on a luxury charter spaceship, leaving two adolescents as the only survivors. The two hope for an escape, but the Alien has other plans. Issue 1 of 4 will be released on December 11, 2019, and will be available for pre-order on September 25.
— Mark Millar teased fans on Twitter with a cryptic message promising a sequel to one of the “most beloved Millarworld projects since the dawn of time.” The catch? You’ll have to wait until the comic debuts on December 18 to find out what it is.
— DC is making “Birds of Prey” its latest addition to the Black Label imprint. The series, created by writer Brian Azzarello and artist Emanuela Lupacchino, will be resolicited with a new cover by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado.
— Vault Comics will release an original soundtrack to accompany the release of its upcoming horror title, “Cult Classic: Creature Feature.” The seven-track album, described as a synthesizer-heavy ode to John Carpenter, will be available via QR code found in the comics, or via Bandcamp. The Hollywood Reporter has the full story on how writer Eliot Rahal teamed up with musician Nick Syman to create the album, as well as a preview of the first track.
— Netflix released the poster and trailer for Raising Dion starring Michael B. Jordan. Based on Daniel Liu’s comic book, the television show is set to premiere on October 4, 2019, on Netflix.
— Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo will receive this year’s Publicists Motion Picture Showman of the Year Award from the International Cinematographers Guild on February 7, 2020. According to Lewis Rothenberg, National President of the ICG, the Russo Brothers are being recognized for their huge impact on cinema through their record-breaking films, their unique and imaginative brand of storytelling, and their commitment to nurturing new talent.
— Finally, HBO Max has ordered two seasons of The Boondocks reboot, launching in fall 2020 with a 50-minute special. According to Deadline, all 55 episodes of the original series will also be available on the WarnerMedia direct-to-consumer platform at launch.
