With it being New York Comic this coming weekend, there’s going to be a lot of news dropping this week so I’m going to forego my trademarked waffling and just blast through all this news:
– Marvel has announced that Iron Fist will be premiering March 17, 2017. Expect a full trailer from NYCC and for me to probably livetweet the full series.
– Talking to the Associated Press about his new film, The Accountant, Ben Affleck revealed that the currently working title for his Batman film is The Batman. Not to be confused with the mediocre mid-2000s cartoon of the same name.
– Deadline has reported that relative newcomer Cameron Cuffe has been cast as Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El, in Syfy’s Kyrpton because the knowledge of this show continues to haunt my every waking moment and I will never be free of it.
– Who’s your favourite James Bond character? Is it Bond himself? How about M, or maybe Q? Or even one of the many Bond Girls? No? What about that one American guy, then If you, for some reason, nodded yes then the next James Bond comic, focusing on Felix Leiter is for you. The series is being created by James Robinson and Aaron Campbell for Dynamite Entertainment.
– Undaunted by the fact that the character’s main legacy nowadays is a terrible Disney film, Brian Wood and Alex Cox are said to be revamping John Carter Of Mars for Dynamite Entertainment. Hopefully that revamp includes a Mars that doesn’t force all women to be naked all the time.
– Ben Templesmith is taking his new comic, about vikings, to Kickstarter. Check it out.
– Marvel Comics have teamed up with ABC News for a comic, illustrated by Dalibor Talajic, telling the story of a mother living through the Syrian Civil War.
– CBR has the exclusive reveal that DC Comics is uniting with BOOM! Studios for “Green Lantern/Planet Of The Apes”, a series that is slated to have a fully reveal at New York Comic. Watch this space.
– Remember KISS? I don’t because I’m a millenial and all mystique surrounding the band died before I was born. Still, Gene Simmons’ Demon character is getting his own comic, for whatever reason.
– ULTRA COMBO! We made it, folks. Finally is the news that Dynamite Entertainment is teaming with Microsoft Studios to produce Killer Instinct comics. I hope they’re weird and kind of terrible, that would be the best way to make a KI comic.
