– Fans of the cult classic Pumpkinhead can rejoice, for a new comic is coming out. Self-proclaimed fan and lover of Pumpkinhead, Cullen Bunn, will be penning the new series, as announced recently ahead of New York Comic Con, which included cover art by comic book horror artist Kelley Jones. Bunn says he’s more than excited to be working on this series, as he’s been a fan ever since he saw it in his small town theater. The comic is set to arrive in February 2018.

– The AV Club has an extended look at the first wave of Berger Books, the new imprint from Dark Horse and former Vertigo editor Karen Berger. The site has multi-page, colored previews, and the books look great.

– For those who enjoyed Marvel’s “Black Bolt,” keep an eye out on BOOM! Studio’s NYCC Thursday panel at 6:45 EST. Saladin Ahmed, author of “Black Bolt,” as well as Throne of the Crescent Moon, is set to announce his first creator-owned comic during the panel. While there are no details as of yet, it is scheduled to release in early 2018.

– Based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs character, as featured in the classic A Princess of Mars, Dejah Thoris (aka the Princess of Mars) is set to return to Dynamite Entertainment with “Deja Thoris” #0, an introductory issue set at the low, low price of twenty-five cents. Penned by Amy Chu, who has also written Dynamite’s own “Red Sonja” and “KISS,” and DC’s “Poison Ivy,” this issue will deal with the Red Martian princess going off on a dangerous and world-saving expedition, as well as encountering a Green Martian prisoner. The comic will be solicited in November and is slated to be released January 2018.

– Speaking of Dynamite, they’re also partnering with Sony Pictures Television to bring back the one and only Charlie’s Angeles to comics. No creative team or concrete release date has been announced at this time, though it is slated to come out sometime in 2018. That said, Dynamite have stated that they’re overly excited to the opportunity to work with Sony and develop said comic, hoping to bring in a new generation of fans.

– Guardians of the Galaxy fans can rejoice in knowing that Epcot, of all places, will be building a rollercoaster based on the property. This is a first for not only Walt Disney World (a Marvel ride in their parks) but for the park of Epcot itself, since it will be their first ever rollercoaster.

– New York Comic Con, along with Keanu Reeves, have set up a special portal for fans to donate funds to help with the relief effort in Puerto Rico. The island, which was recently decimated by Hurricane Maria, is still without power or clean water for most of the island. If your means allow, please consider donating.

– Stephen Amell, star of Arrow, has also turned his attention to Puerto Rico, and is donating a portion of the proceeds from his Nocking Point Wines to the relief efforts.

– In what is shaping up to be a fascinating and bizarre cast, Jenny Slate is in talks to join the untitled Venom film, alongside Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Riz Ahmed. The film’s tentative release date is 366 days from today, October 5, 2018.

– Gears of War is returning to comics in January with “Gears of War: The Rise of RAAM” from Kurtis Wiebe and Max Dunbar. The book focuses on one of the major villains of the franchise, and will be published by IDW.

– Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx is bringing his history of addiction to comics with the forthcoming publication of “The Heroin Diaries,” written by Sixx and illustrated by Danijel Zezeli, Andy Kuhn, and Keiron Dwyer. The graphic novel is an adaptation Sixx’s memoirs that dealt with his time using the titular substance.
