– Trinity (Lizzie Prince), the future daughter of Wonder Woman, will star in her own book. “Trinity Special” #1 will be written by “Wonder Woman’s” Tom King, with art from Daniel Sampere and Belén Ortega. The book will follow the adventures of Trinity as a child (plus her babysitters Damian Wayne and Jon Kent), as well as reprint her first appearance in “Wonder Woman” #800 (written and drawn by King and Sampere). It will also feature a new story from the “Wonder Woman” creative team hinting towards her future. It’s due out January 30, 2024.

– Mad Cave Studios (and their all-ages imprint Papercutz) will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Winx Club with a series of brand-new graphic novels. “Winx Club Vol. 1: Welcome to Magix,” based on the Rainbow SPA animated series following fairy warrior Bloom and her training at Alfea College, will be released January 16, 2024 (and can be preordered now). However, fans can pick up the book at New York Comic Con next week, starting October 12. A special variant will be available at Mad Cave’s booth (#3341), as well as the official Winx booth (#3154). There will also be a 20th anniversary panel featuring Papercutz editor Stephanie Brooks, marketing manager Spenser Nellis, and Rainbow founder Iginio Straffi.

– After offering Christopher Yost and Val Rodrigues’s “Unnatural Order” #1 free to retailers last month, Vault will do the same for “Beyond Real” #1. Zack Kaplan (“Mindset”) writes the book, which follows a struggling artist who discovers the world is a simulation after a near fatal accident, and must navigate her new reality to save her comatose boyfriend. Kaplan is joined by multiple artists, including Fabiana Mascolo, Toni Fejzula, Vincenzo Riccardi, Dennis Menheere, Jorge Corona, Luana Vecchio, and Liana Kangas. With over 137,000 orders, “Unnatural Order” was one of the highest ordered books in the past ten years. “Beyond Real” #1 is set to hit shelves on December 13, 2023, and will be available to retailers in bundles of 25. It will retain its $4.99 SRP and retailers will be free to sell, discount, or freely distribute copies. Net-priced, open order premium variants from Jorge Corona, Luana Vecchio, and Fabiana Mascolo will also be available.

– Crunchyroll has acquired the rights to The Concierge from Production I.G. An adaptation of “The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store” by Tsuchika Nishimura, the anime film follows a concierge at a store with a clientele of animals, many of which are extinct. Yoshimi Itazu directs and Natsumi Kawaida stars. Aniplex will release the film in Japanese theaters this month, with the Western release planned for 2024. You can watch the trailer here.

– Director and Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the 2023 World Animation & VFX Summit. The award comes as Miyazaki came out of retirement to release his first film in ten years, The Boy and The Heron, which to this date in the 75th highest grossing film in Japan. The film, which is slated for a US release on December 8, has also been confirmed for a UK wide release on December 26, and a showing at the BFI London Film Festival this month.

– Finally, Mattel unveiled a new series of Masters of the Universe action figures, with the most notable being a Masters of the Universe/Stranger Things set. The two-pack will be a Target exclusive and feature the Demogorgon (wearing Beast Man’s traditional armor), and Skeletor, recolored to appear as if in the Upside Down. As of this writing, no preorder date has been announced.
