Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– From CBR comes the news that Wonder Woman (yes, the character) will be named as an Honorary Ambassador by the United Nations. The ceremony will be held on October 21 at the United Nations Headquarters that will be attended by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson and, hopefully, the actors who have portrayed the character and the creators who have shaped her story over the years.
– Evangeline Lilly has confirmed that she will be sitting out the first half of the next Avengers story, Avengers: Infinity War. She explains the reason is that Marvel wants the reveal of Hope Pym as Wasp to be saved for Ant-Man & Wasp which will be released two months after Infinity War‘s May 4 release on July 6. Thankfully, though, it seems like Wasp will be making appearance in the second half of the Avengers story.
– The Wrap has a report about the upcoming film Logan which is not a feel good mumblecore film about the main hipster’s shitty best friend in Brooklyn, but the next Wolverine film. The report states a number of things about the film, but the most interesting is the seeming confirmation that the film will feature the live action debut of Laura Kinney as X-23. Seems like they’ve found a replacement for Hugh Jackman, huh?
– Now, I’m not super interested in the FX show Legion, but the show has added Flight Of The Conchords alumni Jermaine Clement so I might end up watching it.
– Finally, remember that Syfy pilot for Krypton I keep mentioning like some recurring fever dream? Well, it added six more members to the cast so it’s ever closer to becoming a reality.
