In case you missed it, we had a roundup of all the Star Wars news coming out of NYCC.

"Book of Evil" #1 by Jock

– Via CBR, Scott Synder announced at New York Comic Con that he has extended his deal with Amazon’s comic book distribution platform comiXology through 2023. Snyder has released several of his Best Jackett Press titles through comiXology Originals this summer, including “Canary,” with art by Dan Panosian, “Barnstormers,” with art by Tula Lotay, and “Dudley Datson and the Forever Machine,” with art from Jamal Igle, Juan Castro and Chris Sotomayor. Most recently, the writer released “The Book of Evil” with Jock on art duties. Snyder said, “Best Jackett partnering with comiXology was one of the best decisions of my career and I’m incredibly excited to keep comiXology a creative home for us in 2023!”

– In other comiXology Originals news, via The Beat, the publisher announced two sequels from writer/letterer Richard Starkings. First up, “Elephantmen 2261: Under Each Skin,” with art by Axel Medellin, and cover art from Ian Churchill. ComiXology’s description reads, “Duplicants. Synthetics. Robots. Hip Flask and Jack Farrell find themselves caught up in a web of intrigue surrounding the appearance of a girl by the name of Alonia and the disappearance of a former associate of Jack’s a girl by the name of Scarlet.” Next up, “Ask for Mercy: The Circle of Time,” with art by Abigail Jill Harding. The official description reads, “While Ratmir and Becky return to Ratmir’s origins in Rumania, Alizarine, Mercy and Budgie have travelled back in time across the Void to Tertiarus in an attempt to stop the Kroach from attacking Earth.” “Elephantmen 2261: Under Each Skin” #1 is out now, while “Ask for Mercy: The Circle of Time” begins October 25.

– As revealed at the Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel at New York Comic Con, Marvel announced two series spinning out of their Spider-Man/X-Men crossover ‘Dark Web.’ “Red Goblin,” written by Alex Paknadel featuring art by Jan Bazaldua, will see Normie Osborn — the grandson of Norman — getting his own symbiote in February. Then in March, writer Erica Schultz and artist Michael Dowling will launch limited series “Hallow’s Eve,” which follows the titular villain being introduced in next month’s “Amazing Spider-Man” #14. ‘Dark Web’ is set to begin this December.

– Image have announced “Stringer,” a hardcover graphic novel by writer Patrick Kindlon and artist Paul Tucker. The book follows a tennis racquet stringer-turned-drug dealer, who travels through Europe with a bag full of cocaine. “Stringer” will be available in comic book shops on April 19, 2023 and in bookstores on April 25, 2023.

– Writer Louis Southard announced, in a press release, that due to a disagreement with Scout Comics, his and artist David Hahn’s “Midnight Western Theatre” will no longer be moving forward with any sequels or the previously announced television adaptation. Any media related to the project was put on hiatus until the rights are set to return in 2025. In his statement, Southard says they are hard at work on a different book with further details coming.

– Per Variety, Amazon Studios have revealed two first-look photos from season 4 of The Boys introducing two new supes. Susan Heyward will suit up as Sister Sage, and Valorie Curry will play Firecracker. Amazon has said that other than these first-look photos, everything else about the two new supes will be kept under wraps. Heyward is known for Orange is the New Black, while Curry starred in The Tick. You can see the two new characters here.

– HBO Max has released trailers for the fourth seasons of Titans and Doom Patrol. HBO Max also confirmed that each season would be split in two: Titans will premiere on November 3 and run through until December 1, while Doom Patrol will premiere on December 8 and run through January 5. Both shows will then go on hiatus, with each season’s Part 2 premiering some time in 2023.

– Per TVLine, NBC has ordered six addtional episodes for Quantum Leap, giving the reboot a full season. The new show is set 30 years after Sam Beckett vanished after stepping into the Quantum Leap accelerator and follows a new team led by Ben Song, who makes an unauthorized leap himself. Quantum Leap airs on Mondays at 10 PM/9 PM Central.

– Marvel have announced that the Disney Channel has renewed animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur for a second season ahead of its February 10, 2023 premiere date. Marvel have also released a clip of the show’s theme song performed by Moon Girl herself, series star Diamond White. The series follows the adventures of Lunella Lafayette aka Moon Girl and her 10-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. Check out the aforementioned clip here.

– Finally, Lionsgate confirmed last month that White Bird: A Wonder Story was taken off the release calendar, for reasons the studio did not go into. The movie, a Wonder spin-off based on author R.J. Palacio’s graphic novel, stars Helen Mirren as the grandmother of the character Julian, who recounts her childhood as a Jewish girl in Nazi-occupied France. The movie was supposed to be released this Friday.
