– Last month, when Marvel released their December solicits, there was a conspicuous missing piece: what was the new Star Wars ongoing by Kieron Gillen and Kev Walker? Well, it turns out it is “Doctor Aphra,” starring the breakout character from Gillen/Salvador Larroca series that wrapped up yesterday. This marks the first new Star Wars series featuring a character created for the comics since the license went to Marvel.

– DC is continuing to boost their miniseries output, adding two new minis come January. “The Odyssey of the Amazons” (written by Kevin Grevioux and illustrated by Ryan Benjamin) is a miniseries set years before the birth of Wonder Woman, and has been described as a “globe-spanning quest.” Also announced is “The Fall and Rise of Captain Atom,” written by veteran Atom writers Cary Bates and Greg Weisman and illustrated by Will Conrad. Captain Atom, of course, is the character that Doctor Manhattan was based on in “Watchmen,” and has been teased as a major part of DC’s Rebirth initiative.

– We got our first look at Mera from Justice League, and it appears that Xebel also has a muted color palette, too.

– Speaking of first looks, just a few hours after announcing that he would become Guardian on Supergirl, we got the first look of James Olsen in his new garb.

– Speaking of Supergirl, Miley Cyrus seemingly has a problem with the show. Probably due to the lack of tongues being suck out on the show.

– IDW hooked up with ComicBlitz, a subscription comics service that is trying to compete with comiXology. I haven’t heard much about ComicBlitz, but competition is probably a good thing for the comics industry.

– And, finally, what the fuck is happening in this Logan photo?
